This 5' x 5' ceiling leak diverter worked exactly how I needed it to. The PVC-coated tarp is sturdy, the grommets didn’t tear, and the hose drained water neatly into a bucket with zero mess. This is a really practical idea when you have a leak and need to control the water until the actual repair can be made. Instead of letting water drip everywhere and constantly moving buckets around, the tarp catches it and directs it toward one location through the drain hose.I like that it can help protect whatever is underneath the leak, especially in a garage, workshop or storage area. It's simple, reusable and much easier than dealing with water spreading across the floor. Definitely one of those products you hope you don't need often, but you're glad to have when you do. I haven’t got to use this yet bcz we’re not getting any rain. It can be used indoors to collect water seepage from a leaky roof as advertised. This is one tough tarp. Waterproof so it holds water well. Comes with attachable hose in center so water will flow through to my rain barrel…when I get rain lol. Considering how thick it is, it’s really lightweight. Very easy to use and Folds up easily for storage. Not expensive and very affordable. Stores away flat. It’s portable so I can collect rain water while camping.

I'm so impressed with the quality of the Kinhui Ceiling Roof Leak Diverter Tarp. The double sided material is heavy weight. When the package arrived, it felt like a lead blanket. Unfolding the tarp revealed that It's well made and feels like it will stand up to lots of use. The grommets are strong and well applied. The center drain outlet would be a weak point in a cheap version but this construction is excellent quality and the drain is securely integrated. I appreciate the well made storage bag because if you use this tarp intermittently it's a great way to keep all the pieces together. The amount of hose included is generous. The 6 D rings, hooks and cordage would make this a simple set up indoors for a roof leak.However, we're using this outside. We recently added 2 IBC tanks to our garden to catch and store rain water. We're still debating the best location and construction method for roof, gutters, etc. Whichever way we go, it won't get built this summer. We needed a temporary way to catch the rain. The commercially available "funnels" marketed for IBCs are crazy expensive so I was excited to find this option.Our set up took some imagination, T-posts and zip ties. It's a bit janky looking but we wanted to test it during today's expected rains. After it rides out the storm, we'll tweak it and pretty it up a bit. We've been watching out the window and so far it's performing well. I think it's exactly what we needed and am quite happy with it.This leak diverter tarp is wonderful whether your plan to catch rain water or roof leaks. Excellent quality product!

I nabbed a similar kit earlier this year and she ended up using it and still is using it months later. As a precaution, I nabbed this one as well. It is similar to the other one except the tarp material is slightly different. The grommet and hose and strings and hooks are all identical and on both versions, sufficient. We/she has not needed this one but we have it on hand.Yay - these things actually work for leaks (not downspout capacity but actual leaks), the included strings/hooks are more than sufficient for a 3x3 tarp, the grommets for the strings with the reinforcement are well done and helpful, and the water/hose grommet is good as well.Boo - you do need to realize the 1/2 inch hose can only move so much water and it is less than you would think, and you need to be able to find a way to shape the tarp to direct the water into the center grommet to drain properly.Meh - I recommend using at least 5 strings/hooks to help shape the tarp as 4 will make it want to be flat or dump the water out one side.All in all, a good kit, hope you never need it, but this one like the other is a keeper in my supply closet at home even if I wish the price was 5 bucks cheaper.

I needed this months ago. When you’re in a panic, you totally forget what you could do to prevent a catastrophe or at least mitigate it. I’ll give you an example: a water heater on the second floor busted and started leaking through the ceiling. How do you contain that? You really can’t—unless you have this ceiling/roof leak diverter. You put it over the spot that’s leaking, make a small hole in the drywall at the lowest point in the ceiling (you’ll easily find it because the water already knows where it’s going), and direct everything into a bucket. If you want to get fancy, use a bucket with an overflow hose running into a 55-gallon plastic drum so you don’t have to babysit it like I did. The water got everywhere—luckily it was wood floors—but I still had to sit there and mop it all up. It was a mess.These come in bigger sizes, but if you don’t already have one when the emergency hits, it’s too late. For most situations (as long as you don’t have major roof damage with water pouring in from too many spots), this 3-foot by 3-foot version should do the job. Just remember where you put it—you could even keep it in your car as an emergency item. The tarp is nice and thick, more like a cloth mesh than those cheap blue tarps. It has six big hooks that can attach to a lot of different things, comes in a zipped pouch, folds up small, and doesn’t take up much room. You might just need it one day.

i ordered this ceiling leak diverter tarp to review for a plumbing drip issue and it has worked well for its purpose so far. you have to be careful when attaching the hose because it requires a specific amount of tightening or the water will just leak down the outside of the hose instead of draining. i ended up hitting the connection with some electrical tape to get a tight seal. as long as i do not have the upstairs neighbors gross toilet water dripping on me while i am using my own bathroom we are good.
