Aluminum Door Threshold

Great transition between carpet and hardwood floor. Cutting to length was simple with a hacksaw. I drilled and countersunk another hole for securing the middle. The negative...the one I received must have been a return, as there was no mounting hardware.

My older house has the standard 1.75 inch wide wood threshold between kitchen and dining room. This aluminum threshold looks and functions so much better. It's very thin with a slight rounded arc so the transition between floors is smooth and barely noticeable. The 48" wide piece fit my threshold perfectly. Using just 3 screws to secure it looks so much better than the 8 nails needed to hold down the original threshold. No adhesion is necessary and installation was pretty quick. The faux wood grain is not overpowering and looks natural.However, I deducted one star for the following reasons:1) The faux wood grain and color look really nice, but then is marred by 3 bright silver screw heads. Couldn't come up with painted screw heads to blend in better? I'll have to paint them myself;2) What's with the longitudinal lines going all down the length? Are they necessary? The faux wood looked almost real except for those lines that scream it's not real wood;3) Luckily I didn't have to cut the length, because something tells me it would have required a special saw/knife/scissors to cut through that industrial strength aluminum. I know your website claims 'Easy To Cut' but something tells me not really;4) A little variety in available colors would be nice, not every one has beige/tan floors. I might try spray painting it with a darker color that blends in better.But overall, I really like this threshold even with these few minor complaints.

We looked and looked for a wide threshold and finally found this one, which suits our needs perfectly.

I got this to use with the shed that I'm building. We haven't finished the shed, so I haven't been able to test this, but it's a very nice quality aluminum door threshold. And it comes with all the necessary screws for attachment. I'm not sure how this is going to fit yet because we haven't decided how big we want to have our shed opening. From the looks of it, I would assume it's going to fit a two-door width, or maybe just one door depending on what doors we choose. I like the looks of it.

This is a solid door threshold, it feels solid and doesn't make any annoying noises, so that's already a plus. It's a low enough threshold so you don't trip on it, even with bare feet or wheels, so it makes for a good bar where you need to walk over a lot. It's solid aluminum, so seems it should last for years without issue. It was easy to install, since it comes with the screws and even anchors provided, and as long as you have an appropriate saw, this is easy to cut to length. It looks a little outstanding, catching the eye vs the wooden floors on either side, it doesn't look quite natural. But for practical purposes, this is a good threshold.
