Roundover Router Bit Set 1

The bit arrived in a nicely packaged plastic case. The quality appears to be very good, I didn't see any noticeable pits or burrs in the metal and the blade is very sharp. I used it on soft pine and the roundover cut came out clean, didn't need to go over it twice. I'm not so sure that it needs double bearing but not going to complain about it either. I have another roundover bit which cost more and I can say, for the price of the JGZUI, it produced some very nice results.

I picked up this roundover bit for a woodworking project and it was a perfect fit for my Avid Power router. It seated properly in the 1/4-inch collet and I didn't notice any wobble or vibration while using it.The cutting edges were sharp right out of the package and made quick work of the wood. I used it on redwood and was impressed with how cleanly it rounded the edges. Even when working across the end grain, the cut came out smooth and even without excessive tearing.The double-bearing design also made it easy to keep the bit positioned consistently along the edge. The finished profile came out clean and uniform, and I've included pictures showing the smooth roundover it produced.I can't really comment on long-term durability yet since I haven't used it enough to wear it out, but my initial experience has been very good. It feels like a noticeable step up from the inexpensive router-bit sets I've used in the past.So far, I'm very happy with the performance and the value. It's sharp, runs smoothly, and produces a clean finished edge.

This 1/2-inch-radius double roundover bit with a 1/4-inch shank has been a go-to for softening edges on shelves and a small tabletop. The profile is consistent, the cut is clean when you take reasonable passes, and 1/4-inch shank fits the router we use for lighter work. Double roundover is handy when you want the same curve on both faces.Router bits reward sharp, unhurried passes. For furniture edges that look finished instead of sharp, this bit has earned a slot in the case.

This review is for a 1/4" radius 1/4" shank round over router bit with a double guide bearing, branded as JGZUI also sold by JGZUI. I must start by saying that I ordered the 1/2" radius bit, but what I received is a 1/4" radius bit. It arrived in a container that was incorrectly labeled as 1/2". At least one other reviewer mentioned a similar issue, so JGZUI appears to have a problem to address. Beware if you order.Other than being the wrong item, this does appear to be above average quality for a lower priced bit. C3 tungsten carbide cutters are harder and will stay sharp longer than some other types of carbide, however they can also be more prone to chipping. Use the protective case. This bit also has a heat resistant coating. The build quality and attention to detail looks good. The edges are sharp and this bit did produce smooth and clean roundover test cuts.The unique quality of this bit is the double bearing set up. There are two advantages that I see. First is the increased area of the guide bearings. Sometimes the surface on which the guide bearings will ride may have variations, such as voids in plywood, drilled holes, countersunk screw heads, dents or other issues. The dual bearings allow this bit to handle situations where a single bearing bit might deviate. The other advantage is the redundancy of the guide bearings. I have seen more than one instance where I have had a guide bearing suddenly fall apart resulting in a gouged work piece. The redundant bearing avoids this problem unless both fail at the same time which is highly unlikely.I see 3 relatively minor disadvantages: One is that this bit will be pulled further off the intended cut if the router is wobbled away from the workpiece. That is simply a result of the geometry of the longer bearing shaft. Of course, a second pass can typically clean up that type of problem easily. The second disadvantage is that you need more depth for this bit to operate. For example, if you were attempting to round over a 3/4" thick window casing already attached to the wall, this bit would be too long, whereas a single bearing bit would probably have adequate clearance. The third disadvantage is additional cost of the bit and that there are 2 bearings to maintain and possibly replace.Overall, this seems to be a reasonably good quality lower priced bit. I will probably mostly save it to use it where the guide bearing area has imperfections, or where a bearing failure and resulting potential work piece damage would be a significant problem. This would be 4 stars for quality, but minus 1 star for sending the wrong item.

This is a 1/2" radius roundover router bit. It has a 1/4" shaft. This bit has double bearings to help keep it aligned and make your cuts smooth.The bit fits well into the collet and doesn't wobble or vibrate during use. The blades are sharp and cut quickly and smoothly. It rounds off the edges of redwood cleanly and evenly even on the grain ends.I can't attest to the longevity of this bit, but my initial experiences are good. It is definitely a step up from the economy bits that come in large sets. It should be durable and it is good value for the money.

I got this router bit to make round the edge on some wood strips that I’m using for baseboards in my bathroom. The bit itself seems to be good quality. I have used it for a few boards now without issues. It cuts well and leave the edge cleanly shaped. I used this 1/4" radius bit in a handheld router to ease the edges of a plywood project. Rather than testing it on perfectly milled hardwood, I intentionally used it on plywood that still had uneven grain and some rough, splintered edges after sanding.The bit produced a smooth, consistent roundover with very little tear-out. One thing that stood out was how well it handled the fragile plywood veneer near the ends. Instead of catching and breaking off the loose fibers, it left a clean finished edge.The dual bearings rolled smoothly and helped keep the cut stable while following the edge. After completing the project, both the carbide cutters and bearings still looked like new with no signs of chipping or unusual wear.The profile matches what I'd expect from a standard 1/4-inch roundover bit, and it fit my router without any issues. Overall, it performed exactly as I hoped and produced clean, professional-looking edges.
