This bit is a versatile size for making grooves in a variety of projects, not too big, not too small. Seemed to have interpreted the description as a set which, for the price, was a deal. This was on the higher side for just one. It's been doing a good job, as other bits we already had. So far nothing remarkable about this except to say it works.

This router bit cuts cleanly and the three-flute design does a good job of leaving a smooth finish when the feed rate is kept reasonable. The 1/4-inch shank fits securely in a compatible router and doesn't have excessive vibration during use.It's a versatile size for grooves, dados, trimming, and other general woodworking projects. The cutting edges arrive sharp, and the bit feels solid and well made rather than flimsy.The cutting edges seem durable enough for regular woodworking use, although taking multiple passes on deeper cuts should help both the finish and the life of the bit. Decent quality and value.

I’m evaluating what I actually received; the design changed from the original. Needless to say, I was disappointed because this is a straight flute and not the original multi-line straight bit.The bit is strong and straight. It fits well and does the job well. I didn’t test it enough for durability testing because it can’t create the type of cut I needed.The quality is decent, but I didn’t find it a good value because it doesn’t function as expected. If it’s what you need, it’s a good value considering the strength, coatings, and other extras.

I usually prefer spiral bits, but this straight bit performs surprisingly well. Out of the box, it’s sharp and cuts cleanly with no tearout or unexpected rough spots. It looks to be well machined with no flaws or chips. Very sturdy.The price point seems slightly steep for what it is, and time will tell how well the edge holds up. However, for a standard straight bit, it works as it should. Reasonable quality and worth a 4-star rating.

This bit worked well for me in both the line and the plywood I tested. It's carbide blades embedded in a carbon steel shaft, which is fine for woodworking. I got clean grooves and also good cutoffs by using this and there was no visible wear after cutting several pieces.The sizing seems correct and I got good 1/4" cuts with it (mine is the 1/4" diameter variant.) I think it's versatile enough to use in whatever woods you're working with. I did not test it on metal as it's not designed for that. I'm sure it can handle plastic but you may get some edge melting on acrylic because this is 3-flute and not single flute... that's not the fault of the bit, it's just designed for wood, and for best performance and safety, stick with wood!I think the value is decent and it seems to be holding up well so far.

This review is for the JGZUI brand ‘3 Flute Straight Router Bit, ½” Shank, 3/8” Diameter’.This seems like a decent bit. I have found I prefer a spiral bit, but for the straight bit this one works just fine. A little testing showed promising results...no tearout, no excessive hanging pieces or anything else I wouldn’t expect from a new bit. This looks like it’s a genuinely decent router bit. The true test is to see how long it lasts, but that takes time the review system for Vine doesn’t allow, unfortunately.In any case, the bit comes in nice and sharp, and cuts exactly as it should, with a minimum of fuss. I have had worse bits I got brand new for only a little less from big box stores, so there’s that, too. Honestly, I wonder if the price isn’t a little bit high for what you get.Overall, I’m reasonably happy with this router bit. It’s not a great bit, but it works. Four stars.

For a straight cut router bit this works as it is supposed to - the flutes seem to pull the sawdust out of the cut reasonably well. The edges are sharp and my test cuts did not show any adverse wear or breakage. The test piece of wood is Mahogany - the bit did leave a bit of fuzz to be sanded off, this is probably due to the orientation of the grain vs my direction of cut.I tried to get close up photos of the cutting edges, but my phone won't focus that close (well, it looks for something else to focus on other than what I want it to), however I think I captured a decent representation of the leading and trailing edges of the cutting blade.Additionally you will notice I am not using a router, I have this chucked up in my milling machine. I do this for two reasons, first, this is where I will be using a bit like this. I make custom knives as a hobby and sometimes I need to router slots for hardware on the back sides of the grips - additionally I have made grips for handguns for some of my customers, and again, sometimes a slot needs to be made.The second reason I used the mill is that it is easier to video the cutting action of the tool. I apologize, I got a bit of my finger in the shot. I really need to get a different camera.A bit like this I would use for cutting slots while guiding the router with a clamped down straight edge - for trimming an edge I rather prefer a bit with a roller bearing.Overall this is a very nice straight cut bit and a decent price, I would put this in the category of consumable shop tools, like screwdriver and drill bits. I am a handyman and I probably wear out more tools and bits in a year than the average homeowner does in a lifetime, so quality and affordability are two things I like in my tools and supplies.
