Solid Little Utility Knife

[Color: Black]
This is a handy utility knife to keep around the house or in a toolbox. The folding design makes it much easier and safer to carry or store than a traditional box cutter with the blade sticking out. It feels pretty solid in the hand and has a comfortable enough grip for opening boxes, cutting cardboard, and other everyday jobs. The blade locks securely when open, and changing blades is straightforward. I also like the compact size since it doesn't take up much room in a pocket or tool bag.My only complaint is that the folding mechanism was a very stiff right out of the box. It has gotten smoother with use, though, and I'd rather have it slightly tight than loose and floppy.Overall, it's a simple, sturdy utility knife that does exactly what I need it to do.

A good enough knife that still falls into the "you get what you paid for" territory

[Color: Red]
Like most people, I'll grant that the knife just looks pretty stylish. It's not fancy, per se, just makes good use of negative spaces to add depth. It helps that the red color of the handle (assuming you go with that version) is very bright and saturated. Frankly, I don't think the photos do it justice. The blade folds around the large metal ring, which should be large enough for any normal finger, though it's a little bit of an awkward hold if you intend to actually have a finger in there. The locking trigger on the handle is easy enough to operate, and slides pretty smoothly. As another reviewer mentioned, the lock does press against the blade if you don't hold it down, so that is adding some friction when folding the blade in or out. It's a minor thing to me, but I know it bothers some people. While the blade locks in both positions, there were a couple times that I pulled it straight out, it seemed as if it had locked, but it didn't. I think this might just be a fluke, but I'm being a little extra careful to be sure it does lock every time I open or close the blade. The blade itself comes pretty sharp, but it's made of fairly soft steel, so that probably won't last particularly long. I've already spotted some light scratching along the sides, which shouldn't have happened with the relatively light usage I've been putting it through so far. I already get the feeling the blade is a little dull after just 3-4 weeks, so I'll probably have to make a point of sharpening it fairly often. That softness isn't too surprising given the price. A knife at the $20 price point isn't likely to have the best materials, so it's sort of a temporary knife to use for a while and then replace when you've got a few more bucks for something better... or just have this as a backup to keep in your car or bag.

Poor material quality and leaky pivot oil

[Color: Grey]
I was expecting a solid, clean folding utility knife, but the quality overall is pretty mediocre. The materials feel cheap in hand and lack the sturdy heft you'd want for heavy-duty box cutting or warehouse tasks. The most annoying part is the folding mechanism at the pivot joint. It arrived covered in excess machine lubricant that was leaking out around the hinge, giving off a strong, unpleasant chemical oil smell. Even after wiping it down, it keeps seeping oil when opening and closing. Not something I'd recommend if you want a clean, well-made EDC tool.

Knife looks cool and is quite useful

[Color: Black]
This is a fun design for a knife. The handle has cutouts that let you see the blade when it is folded shut, and there is a ring hinge that allows you to put your finger into it for stabilization while cutting. Most of the other small knives I get have the locking mechanism in the path of the blade, but this one has a button on the side so your fingers are never in the way for any length of time. The locking mechanism works well for both closed and open positions. The blade arrived sharp enough for me to start using it to open packaging immediately. It has a fat, stubby blade that may be legal for you to carry in your state -- check your local laws :) This has been very popular in my family, everyone wants to handle it and try it out.

Beautiful knife, very sharp!Beautiful knife, very sharp!

[Color: Red, Color: Red]
I’m always interested in knives of different sizes and styles so as soon as I saw a big hole in the middle of it, I had to figure out what it was and how to use it.On one side, there’s a button for your thumb. From The design, it would be your right thumb, pushing on the button, and the red is resting in your palm. I pull out the knife with the knob on the blade. It locks in place!I’m surprised by how sharp it was. If you understand, slicing technique, it passed my paper test very easily, and without an issue at all.The hole seems to be for your finger! Makes grip a lot easier if you’re sinking your knife into something. The red handle has a nice economic grip at the bottom where your pinky, ring and middle finger can fit comfortably on for increased grip. One thing I don’t like is the placement of the clip. If your right handed, then you would want the clip on the other side. I can’t quick draw it or conceal it correctly because of its misplacement. The knife seems to be right handed, so it would only make sense for it to be on the other side.I’ve also had a couple issues where I couldn’t lock it fully went open or locking. It closed with the button popped out. I guess if you move way too quick, then some mishaps can happen where you bypass the lock.Otherwise, I really like the beautiful slotted design in the handle, the energize Red all throughout and that thumb hole definitely looks really cool!

[Color: Black, Color: Black]
This knife has a unique design and works well. The knife has a large open hole in the one end where the blade pivots open. The hole has a silver colored inside and edge. I ordered the knife in black and the handles are black coated metal. The handles have openings in them letting you see through the handle. There's a pocket clip on one side with the open end of the clip facing the hinge side of the blade. There's a thumb stud on the blade to help with opening. The lock is a button lock and you have to push the button in to open the blade. The knife measures approximately 4.4" in length closed and 7.2" open. The blade measures approximately 2.8" in length. I weighed the knife at 3.84 ounces.Using the knife it came very sharp. Everything feels substantial and sturdy. The lock locking while open and closed makes it hard to accidentally open the knife and indeed I find it hard to open one handed. It's easiest to use two hands to open or close the knife. The blade has some drag to it while you open it or close it so it won't snap closed unpredictably. The feel in the hand is good. It's a neat design and I like the button lock mechanism.

Cool-Looking Design, Functional As Utility or PocketknifeCool-Looking Design, Functional As Utili...

[Color: Grey, Color: Grey]
First off, the look of this knife is just straight up cool. Functionality aside, it's just a clever design that looks sweet cosmetically, and if you're wanting a knife whose design will impress people then stop reading and just buy it. That said, as a working knife it's pretty solid too. The blade arrived sharp on the curved portion but a bit dull along the flat part of the edge, but I was able to quickly rectify that with a sharpener (which it took to quickly... making the think the steel might be a bit on the soft side, but also the quick-sharpening side). The blade locks closed and also locks open, with a button press required to get it to move from either position. I like this as a safety feature, but it does mean it takes a little longer to open and requires two hands. The pivot of the blade isn't as smooth as my other knives, and even with a couple drops of oil it didn't improve. This is due to the design of the locking mechanism, which drags internally along the circular rear edge of the blade, which I discovered when I held in the lock button and it suddenly became silky smooth. But since it's impractical to hold the button constantly, in its default usage it's kind of a janky, dragging movement that feels cheap. Then again, this knife IS cheap so I can't complain much and I'm only docking it one star in this review. Altogether a very cool looking, pretty solidly useful knife and it will be great for my around the house tasks (including opening the many, many Amazon boxes that arrive at my home)!

Sharp, Solid Utility Knife That Performed Well Across Everyday TasksSharp, Solid Utility Knife Th...

[Color: Black, Color: Black]
Item: Folding Utility Knife,Box Cutters for Home, Heavy-Duty Box Cutter, Office, Warehouse, Gardening Grafting,Durable Razor Knife, Box Knives (Black)This folding utility knife arrived sharp and was ready to use right out of the box. The edge made clean cuts through both 1/2-inch and 3/4-inch rope, handled light pruning around the yard, and even shaved bark from small branches without any roughness or snagging. The blade edge remained clean throughout our testing, with no visible burrs or imperfections. The knife has a solid feel in the hand with enough weight to feel substantial without being cumbersome. The large finger ring provides a secure grip and gives good control during cutting, while the blade locked firmly in both the open and closed positions. Nothing loosened or developed any blade play during use.The blade is deployed and retracted using a small push button built into the handle. It worked reliably every time, although I think the button would be a little easier to use if it were slightly larger. We also measured the knife and found it matched the listed overall length.Summarizing - this proved to be a well-built utility knife that performed well across a variety of everyday cutting tasks, from opening and cutting materials around the property to light outdoor work. It has earned five stars from us.
