I obtain, disassemble, analyze, and reassemble a lot of locks before posting reviews. Many China-sourced locks are garbage, but that is not the case with the privacy (bathroom and bedroom) lock reviewed here.Yes, this lock is made in China, but it is well made of heavy, high-quality materials. It operates smoothly and has the feel of a premium lockset. The black portions (including the latch and striker plate) have a thick powder-coated finish that feels good and should stand up to the elements for years to come. I cannot determine if the handles are truly brass or heavy zinc material coated in a brass finish. Either way, they are handsome and feel expensive.The box includes all fasteners and accessories to install the lock quickly and easily onto a door and casing that has appropriate cutouts. The latch is adjustable to fit both of the common North American backset standard dimensions. Terse but adequate instructions are included in case you need to install this lock into a door and casing lacking pre-drilled cutouts.The locking mechanism itself is a push-pull design rather than the more common rotating latch design. This matches the design aesthetic of the lock and works quite well.You can buy other black privacy locks on Amazon for fewer dollars, but they will have neither the quality of design nor the quality of materials of this lock. I rate this a good value.

I really like the combination of matte black and brass on this door lever. The two-tone finish gives it a modern look without being too flashy. The handle set arrived well packed in foam packaging within its own box. The set included all parts and hardware needed for installation.This is a beautiful handle set, all metal, with knurled gold levers on a black backplate. The metal work is outstanding, no weird grinder marks anywhere and the color is excellent and consistent all over. The gold levers are heavy and contribute to a very solid feel when using the handle.Installation was very easy and took less then 10 minutes. The gold levers use small Allen set screws (Allen wrench is included) to attach to the main body and one of mine was crossthreaded. Fortunately, I noticed it quickly because it was inserted at a steep angle and was able to reuse the screw. I do suggest to use threadlocker on these screws. The latch plate has rounded corners so no chisel needed for the mortise on the door edge.Everything functions very smoothly and the door can be locked by pressing the lock button from the interior side. There is a hole on the exterior side that is opposite of the lock button and you can bypass the lock by inserting a paper clip or similar object to push the lock button outward. From the interior side, you can unlock by pulling the lock button out or by simply turning the handle.This is a gorgeous handle set and highly recommended

I've needed a new door handle for awhile now, and I loved the look of this one so I was really excited to get it!To start, it's really easy to install. I've only tried to install doorknobs where the handle and the flat bit are all one piece, so screwing them and unscrewing them is really awkward. The handle being separate on these is so much easier, even if it does add an extra little step. It's also pretty cool that I was able to turn the hands to the sides I want them, whether they match or not, which turned out to be really handy for the unusual setup I have for the door I put it on.Second, I love how this looks. The brass on black go together really well, and while they wouldn't go with absolutely any decor, they would fit in with a lot, be it more humble like where I'm using them or something more classy.The only issue I have is that the lock doesn't work, and since this is supposed to be a PRIVACY door lever and it isn't able to provide a basic feature, I think it's worth taking a star off.I think this is still pretty worth it even at the price it is, it's a really nice door lever that I'm happy to have, but I do wish the lock was functional.

Wow! I love the look and overall design of this door handle. The gold lever has a nice weight to it, and is substantial feeling, beautifully etched (which will help hide scratches), and a lovely shade of champagne color. I ordered this knob to help update and modernize a bathroom. I have never seen a door handle quite like this, and it makes an amazing impression. The knob was easy to install. The lock is easy to do with a push button. The door is easily opened by pushing down on the lever. I have used SNBTLA knobs in the past, and they have held up perfectly to daily use over a few years time. I will look to order more matching knobs to make an impactful statement in my home.
