Worked like a charm!
These replacement filter cartridges are an excellent way to keep your compatible Cobbe shower head performing at its best. If you're already enjoying filtered shower water, replacing the cartridge on schedule makes a noticeable difference in water quality and overall shower experience. The quality of these filters is impressive. Each cartridge feels well constructed, and the filtration media is securely packed inside. They fit the compatible Cobbe shower head perfectly, making replacement quick and hassle-free.Installation couldn't be easier. Simply remove the old cartridge, insert the new one, and reassemble the shower head. The entire process only takes a couple of minutes, so there's very little downtime before you're back to enjoying filtered water. The filtration performance is what really stands out. The multi-stage filter helps reduce chlorine, fluoride, heavy metals, and other impurities commonly found in tap water. While every home's water supply is different, I noticed the water felt cleaner and less harsh after replacing the filter.Functionally, these cartridges help maintain the performance of the shower head while supporting healthier-looking skin and hair. After regular use, my skin felt less dry, and my hair seemed softer and easier to manage. If you live in an area with hard or heavily treated water, changing the filter regularly is definitely worthwhile.I also appreciate that the recommended replacement interval is straightforward. Swapping the cartridge every few months is a simple maintenance task that helps keep the filtration system working as intended. For the price, this four-pack offers excellent value for the money. Having multiple replacement filters on hand means you won't have to remember to reorder every few months, and buying them as a pack is much more economical than purchasing single replacements. The funniest part? After installing a fresh filter, my Great Dane wandered into the bathroom and looked at me with complete confusion when I started talking about how "soft" the water felt. He couldn't understand why I was so excited about a shower when, in his opinion, rolling in the sprinkler is clearly the superior bathing method. If you own a compatible Cobbe shower head and want to maintain excellent filtration performance, easy installation, cleaner water, and softer-feeling skin and hair, these replacement cartridges offer outstanding quality and excellent value for the money. They're an easy five-star recommendation.
I recently ordered a Cobbe shower-head and love it. We have hard tap water here where I live, full of dissolved limestone, giving it a high concentration of calcium and magnesium. When the fatty acids and oils in your hand soap, dish soap, or toothpaste hit the calcium and magnesium in your tap water, they react to form a new, insoluble substance… soap scum. You get that squeaky-clean feeling from that residue left on your body. Now I know. No going back. I am going to have to keep filter cartridges on hand to replace as needed.Saving money on items we depend on is crucial these days, with prices soaring everywhere. This four-pack of shower-head filter cartridges is such a bargain! You get four for about 10 bucks. That’s roughly 25% of what you would pay for the OEM version. I thought I'd give them a go. This replacement certainly looks like the original Cobb shower-head filter replacement cartridge, but does it work as well as the original? First off, it’s a perfect fit. Installation is a cinch; just unscrew the shower head, pop out the old one, pop in the new one and screw the shower-head shut. The standard Cobbe filter cartridges feature a 20-layer filtration system for removing chlorine and heavy metals. This replacement filter uses an 18-layer, or 18-stage, filter system. I'm not sure how much difference that makes, as the details are not provided. They both use KDF–55, which is a specialized water filter media composed of high-purity copper and zinc. The chemistry professor in me wants to tell you all about that, but let’s just say it effectively removes chlorine, reduces heavy metals, helps control bacteria, and improves the life of the filter. It’s also very effective at high temperatures, making it ideal for use in shower-heads. The water feels just as good with this Cobbe replacement as it did with the original Cobbe filter. Sorry, Cobbe, but I’m going to go with the $2.50 filter over the $10 filter. This is an excellent value.
I ordered the 4 Pack Shower Head Filter Replacement Cartridge Compatible with MakeFit SSJ781/DSSJ781/DSSJ781-01, Multi-Stage Shower Filtration Removes Chlorine, Fluoride and Heavy metals-18 Stage by FanpBow because I have a filtered showerhead that arrived with zero documentation on which replacement cartridges it takes so I have been trying to find ones that fit.The variation that I'm reviewing is not currently available but that may change in the future. I'm mentioning this because I had to be very careful which variant I was selecting for my specific showerhead. I recommend you do the same. These replacement showerhead cartridges are pretty straightforward: there's four of them and they arrive in a much smaller box than I imagined but they're the real deal—they measure at a little over four inches like the product listing shows. They're skinny enough to fit inside of a showerhead even though it doesn't look like they'll fit at first. When handling them, there's a percussive sound like maracas. Presumably these are the beads that "remove" minerals from hard water, but I'm not sure how that works and I feel like it's gimmicky. The thing is, I didn't test the water myself as I don't have those kind of tests, so I'm just going off of how the water smells and tastes, which is fairly good. When I'm showering I don't smell huge clouds of chlorine like I used to, so at worst, it's filtering a little bit, and at best it's doing what FanpBow says they do. There's no odor from the cartridges themselves. I haven't noticed a chance in my skin or hair.I've only used a filtered showerhead for around six months and my percussive beads cartridge got truly nasty without me realizing, so I'm not sure how long these cartridges are supposed to last before being swapped out. The product listing wants the cartridges to be swapped out nearly monthly for a family, but doesn't specify if that means multiple people taking showers daily or not. Our family is quite responsible on water use so I feel like we can realistically stretch these replacements for longer than a month and a half, but I haven't used it that long yet. What I can say is, while I got these replacements for a much cheaper price via vine, I do feel as though their sale price is reasonable for the sake of water quality. Most ads I see for filtered showers and replacement cartridges are on a subscription based schedule and I simply refuse to do another subscription. These cartridges and other amazon sellers allow me to experience chlorine-free water without a premium subscription, so I will be ordering from them again.
It's a b**** getting older.... My ahir has gotten thinner, more lifeless, and frizzy. And I have no idea if this is age, hormones, a response to my medications or a response to having had covid. Or all of the above. So like many of us, I'm doing the circuit of adding in hair vitamins, adding in supplements, taking collagen, adjusting my meds, changing all my hair products.... and basically learning how to take care of frizzy hair... which I've never had before. Some stupid google ad (I swear google either thinks I'm a horny 14 year old boy or a 70 year old grandma with sagging boobs and menopause symptoms) recommended I try some expensive shower filter, and I had had a friend suggest I get a shower filter previously, so instead of buying the expensive shower filter from the ad, I searched Amazon and found the makefit system at a decent price... I wasn't sure I wanted to get rid of my previous shower head, which I really liked the water pressure from, and so then I added a splitter, and now I have a ridiculous set up in my shower, where I can choose between a filtered rain shower head, a filtered hose head, and my original unfiltered shower head... And the color doesn't match, but I've got all the flexibility and options...And I keep using the filtered showerheads.... Because my hair texture and appearance is better - my hair is shinier and less frizzy. It's not back to normal, but filtering my shower water seems to improve my my hair... and i'm going with that. However, now that I have showerheads that have filters, I need to have replacement filters.... and replace them every 6 months, and that costs money, and of course i need to explore whether or not there's generic cheaper replacement filters that I can buy for my makefit shower heads.... and this has led me to these filters. And yes, they are cheaper than the branded product (Okay, I'm pretending makefit is a high end brand vs an odd amazon brand, but whatever) ... And they are super easy to install, and fit well. Can I tell the difference in my hair from using these generic shower head filters vs. the branded makefit ones? Nope. Have i tested the water? Also nope. But. These fit, were cheaper, and they seem to work! so yay, I'll count these as a win!If anything earth shattering changes with my shower or hair in the 6 months that I will be using this filter, I'll update the review...
