I got this pack of three pin connectors to help set up some multi-color LED lighting inside a large display cabinet. I needed something that would let me connect three wires at once without having to solder everything in place. The locking buckles on these are surprisingly strong. You just slide the wires in and clamp the top down, and it bites into the wire well enough that nothing slips out even if you tug on it. You don't have to strip the cables, you can insert them as is, but I prefer to strip them. I find that its easier to clamp them closed and they grip on just as tight.For eighteen dollars, getting sixty of these is a pretty good deal, especially if you do a lot of low voltage wiring. The only thing to keep in mind is that they are a little on the bulky side since its for 3 cables. I had a hard time hiding them behind the narrow trim of the shelves. If you are working in a really tight spot, you might have to get creative with how you tuck the wires away.Overall, they do exactly what they are supposed to do and make running long stretches of wire a lot less tedious. I would absolutely use these again for open air or larger panel projects where space is not an issue.

I've been installing LED lighting wherever possible (galley, bedrooms, bathrooms, etc..) on the boat and small connectors like these work great for that non-critical task. I would not use them for any task that is critical like navigation lights or electronics connections because they are just press fit connectors and are absolutely not waterproof.These are a handy quick connector to use because as you can see by the closeup photo, they are the type that force the wire between robust tangs when you insert the wire and pinch them closed. The photo also shows the tabs that mate and connect together and they are also robust for such a small connector.These identical connectors are available from a number of sources on Amazon. These are listed at 30 cents per connector half (it takes two to make a connection) which is a very competitive price for this quantity on Amazon. I purchased these three-pin quick connectors for a project I was working on. I already had two-pin and single-pin connectors available, but this particular project required a three-wire connection. All you have to do is to lift the clear plastic cover and insert 18-22 gauge wires and then press down until it locks. You can use pliers to make it easier to close what is called the locking buckle. The description states that the wire you can use needs to be between 1.5 mm and 2.1 mm. It can handle solid or stranded wire and these are reusable if you need to rearrange the wires or use them on a different project. You get 60 pieces which makes 30 connections for under $20. They are listed as being made from PA66 nylon + ABS housing with modified copper contacts. They are described as being made from flame retardant materials and can withstand up to 105°C. I have a large project that involves low voltage and this will make it a lot easier without having to strip wiring or soldering them together. My project involves three wire connections for multiple items and for each one I would have to make 6 crimps with a crimping tool for the splice so this is much easier and simple for me.

I inadvertently made my test harder than it could have been. I chose 22 AWG wire but with silicone insulation. That makes the wires highly uncooperative (like trying to push cooked spaghetti). As a result, one of my first few attempts, the wire moved and missed the clamp. The good news is with a tiny screwdriver I pried open the latch and tried again with success.It's important to note that when hooking two of these together, one of them is upside down with respect to the other. So to wire them right it seems to me the best way is to orient them the same way, load in the wires exactly matching one another, once assembled rotate one of the connections around and then flip one upside down.
