Nice little connectors. Very simple to insert wires and squeeze shut with pliers until you hear the click. Note, the instructions that come with the connectors show (incorrectly) the wires stripped before inserting them into the connectors but the webpage says stripping beforehand is not required - I verified that no stripping is required. These are spec'ed for and work well with 18-22 AWG wire but be aware that some 18 AWG wire may have thicker insulation than will fit into the 2.2mm hole - I found this out the hard way. I also installed these connectors on 24 AWG wire and found the electrical connection wasn't as solid as with 18-22 AWG but I was able to resolve this with a little bit of wire wiggling - this allowed the internal connector "teeth" to fully bite through the insulation and establish continuity.The connectors snap into each other easily and make for a nice and simple connection system.

As a professional electrician working on aircraft, I can honestly say these little connectors make wire connections an absolute breeze. I recently obtained a lighting system for my truck and was dreading the installation, especially the amount of wiring involved. These connectors made the job surprisingly quick and easy.The push-in, tool-free design is incredibly convenient, and not having to strip the wires or use solder made the installation much less frustrating. The connections were quick, clean, and secure, which is exactly what I was looking for.I also appreciate having 100 connectors in the package because it gives me plenty for future projects. They’re especially handy for low-voltage wiring, automotive accessories, speakers, and LED applications.I decided not to include pictures of the lighting installation because I was advised that the particular lights may not be DOT-approved, so I’d rather keep the review focused on the connectors themselves.Excellent little connectors that saved me a lot of time and made the installation much easier. From a professional standpoint, I’m very impressed. Five stars!

Handy little connectors for low-voltage, low current uses

I got them for connecting wiring for LED strip lights. They are sexless connectors, so mate with themselves. One just needs to be consistent on which pin is positive and which is negative.The connectors generally mate smoothly, but there were a few times where I had to jiggle a bit and push a little more forcefully. Once seated, I had no issues with having a good connection.These are insulation displacement connectors and take a little bit of force to seat on 20AWG stranded wire. A pair of mini channel-lock pliers worked well. Note that these connectors are unlikely to be reusable once crimped on a wire.

For many years when I've wanted to splice wires together I'd use butt-connectors that required me to strip both wires and then carefully, simultaneously hold both wires in the butt-connector and then crimp the butt-connector closed with a pliers. It can be a somewhat difficult, error-prong process, in part because it can be difficult to strip the wires exactly the right amount, and to try to hold them in place with one hand while crimping with the other hand. So when I saw these TKCHAX double-wire plug-kin connectors, I was excited to give them a try. I'm glad that I did. These TKCHAX connectors are VERY easy to use as long as you're splicing 18-22 AWG wires. You simply open the wire-insert section and insert the wires. Then you close it which then bites through the wire-sheath to make the electrical connection (instead of having to strip the wires). You do the same thing on the other pair of wires. And then you simply press the two connectors together. One great thing is that there is only one type of connector, not male connectors and female connectors. Therefore you don't have to (put on your reading glasses and) search through your drawer (in my case) or bag of electrical connectors in order to find one male connector and one female connector. That's a really great feature that I didn't realize when I bought these TKCHAX double wire plug connectors. The other great thing is that all of the connections can be undone. The two connectors stay securely connected to each other, but you can also pull them apart if need be. That can be really useful for wiring up things that you may want to change-out/upgrade later like car-stereo harnesses or car-speaker wires.These TKCHAX wire connectors come with a nice instruction manual (even though the usage is very intuitive) which includes the electrical specifications. That's nice.These are good connectors are very affordable, time-saving, frustration-saving, and work well so I'm rating them 5-stars.

It's hard to describe the feeling when you can click those 5 stars with confidence knowing you're not giving a higher score than deserved.First the negatives:1. it is very easy to start seeing projects for these all around once you start playing with themThat's it. No other negatives. They do what they promise to do, they are as compact as they promise to be, as easy to use as they promise to be, they're just perfect. Ok no wait... they are AMAZING. They are NOT perfect. They would be perfect if they did everything they do and also were waterpoof in the process :)At any rate, I've only had these for a few days but I've already found several use for them.1. I used them to make the connection for a new set of blinkers on one of our motorcycles (I Had to shrink wrap over it due to no waterproof of course2. I converted a couple of small handheld tools that used same voltage transformers all to the same connector ... so now I just keep the transformer plugged in and grab the tool I want to use... plug it in, boom!3. I have a few more ideas ... probably more than I have connectors for :P : P: PThat said, the super game-changer has been something that maybe sounds silly but sometime you just don't realize what will make your life a little bit better before you try it.Ok, so we have 4 cars and 5 motorcycles (one is in pieces... LOL) I have and I quote "Developed an obsession for buying lighting equipment for the vehicles" (not my words LOL). Anyway... any time I get a new item I obviously have to test it. I have a marine battery that I use for a particular purpose and that I keep in the garage. and the way I would always test my stuff was to take the wires for the items and touch them to these black/red wires that I attached to the poles of the battery. Works fine of course but every time I have to strip some of the wire on the new device then I have to twirl the wires from the new device to the ones to the battery... and then when I test something if I move it around my quick/dirty twirling often comes apart. Oh and the ends of my testing wires have to be shoved in these cutouts I made in the box that holds the battery so that they don't accidentally touch. NOT ANY MORE! I took the two wires, attached a connector... and now when I need to test something I just attach a connector SUPER-EASILY to the item and plug it in. OMG OMG OMG ... how did I live life the other way.No crimping... no twirling, no periodically trimming my source wires and getting new copper out... no connection that comes apart as I move the new item around.Plus for instance with the blinkers, after testing I just left the connector on the blinker, then put a connector on the bike... grabbed my heat gun and a shrink-tubing piece... BOOM.Buy with confidence!

A truly innovative DIY low-voltage connector

This is my first exposure to this style of low-voltage connector that seems to have recently exploded in the DIY space. No doubt, they will be very handy for a variety of projects. One thing that makes them unique is they're neither male or female, but rather both ends are identical and simple fit into each other with one side flipped from the other. That flip and the reverse end-to-end also ensures polarity is maintained, so assuming they're wired up correctly to begin with, you can't connect them backward going forward.Interesting note on polarity though: my bag of 100 connectors appears to have come from multiple production runs in that on some an arbitrary '+' marking is on the left side while on others it's on the right side; some are marked with a '-', and some have no polarity marking at all. Apparently there is no standardization here. It really doesn't matter so long as you're consistent, but if one was strictly going by that marking when assembling several cables, it would be easy to have mis-matched sets wired opposite. Just something to be aware of.I had mixed results with not pre-stripping and using the piercing action of the closure to make the initial contact. I think that has much to do with the thickness and toughness of the wire's insulation. For most small/light wire, the piercing worked fine, but on larger, tougher wire I had to pre-strip ~1/8" for them to work. Interesting to, the instruction sheet included in the bag shows the wires pre-stripped in the "step 1" picture, yet a big selling point is not needing that pre-stripping step. Not a big deal for me either way.I like that they make a solid "click" when connected together, yet come apart easily with a slight tug, I don't foresee any issues with repeated connect/disconnect cycles as the contacts seem to have to good spring action and make a solid connection. Overall, I like 'em and can easily recommend for a variety of uses.
