These post aids are sufficiently thick and they do the job of stabilizing a broken fence post.The provided bit is very helpful, and there is an extra screw, and the screws themselves are sturdy and long enough-however, the heads on them are shallow (see photo) and a challenge to screw in tightly.The brackets are nicely powder coated, however, the powder coating comes off when you hit the bracket with a hammer and the bracket gets slightly misshapen where it is hit (see photo).The nature of the installation makes it challenging to keep the bracket perfectly plumb when installing, so knowing this in advance will save you some angst.All of these slight negatives are enough to make this 4 stars.I recommend it!

This is an awesome quick fix alternative. They are very well-made and heavy duty. Takes less than 10 min to prop up any pole. They are about average price for what you get. Just a great reinforcement brace set. They can be used temporarily or permanently. Thry are reusable and are thick enough to last years.

I have a fencepost that's rotted out at the base along an aging fence with a neighbor. This isn't the first post we've lost and yet both of us keep trying to get more time out of the structure. Prior posts we've pulled out, and dropped a new post into the old hole, though not without some significant effort. The whole thing would be easy if we had a jackhammer and busted up the old fence post concrete and started over, but like the suburbanites we are, fail to own such uniquely awesome tools. Instead, behold, the fence post repair kit! Why dig a broken and rotting fence post out of the ground when you can simply reinforce the existing one for mostly the same price!Honestly, this thing is great. I slide the anchor along the fence post till it hit the ground and started pounding away with my dead drop rubber mallet. I half expected the black coating to come off where I was hitting with the mallet and yet no flakes came off, despite putting no wood or cardboard between the mallet and the post. The post went in with a little difficulty, but nothing the mallet wasn't able to fix. Keeping the post pointed the right direction was slightly more effort than I expected, but it worked out. The included screws, drill bit, and hex driver made installation simple. Now the post feels... mostly new. It's not as sturdy as a totally new post, but it'll take a child or a dog running into it, which is good enough for me. Job done for now at less hassle than digging out the old post and less cost and storage than getting the jackhammer I (mostly) don't need (but want).
