This scoop feels well made and has no problem handling drywall mud, plaster, or mortar. The stainless steel construction is sturdy, and cleanup is quick since material doesn't stick too badly. The only thing I didn't love was the weight. After using it for a while, it felt heavier than expected, and reaching the corners of the bucket wasn't always as easy as I wanted. It definitely gets the job done, but a few small design changes would make it much more comfortable. The value for money is fair, especially if durability is your main priority.

But in practice my experience was mixed. The scoop works quite well with drywall compound and mortar. I enjoy the fact that it cleans up simply after you're done with the task. The dried substance does not adhere as much as it does on some other instruments thus it is rather easy to wipe off.But the heft that makes it seem solid may also become a burden on longer jobs. After a while of use, my wrist really felt the added strain of scooping heavy stuff again and over. The edges worked, but I discovered that they did not always make it simple to get all the compound out of the bottom corners of a bucket, so sometimes I had to use a smaller putty knife to do the job.The handle is comfortable enough, but I believe it might have a bit more grip when my gloves become dirty or a little moist. I never lost my hold on it, but it didn’t feel all that secure, either.

I usually don't give the word "premium" much attention because it doesn't mean much these days. But for a bucket scoop, this is actually premium.I am using it in my garden to sieve through soil, and so far I am very happy with it. The quality and finish are excellent. It is stainless steel, stamped, folded, and assembled with real rivets. This is the kind of construction that should last a very long time. There is simply not much here that can fail.I don't have to worry about corrosion, and there is no handle that can crack or become brittle after years outside in the sun. The only downside of an all-metal design is that it gets very hot when left in direct sunlight.At $14 (July 2026), this is not cheap for a scoop, but I expect it to last for many years. Unless I run it over with a truck or it gets hit by a meteor, this is probably the kind of tool that can be handed down.Five stars from me. I hope this helps others make a decision.

This is one of those simple tools that you can certainly work around without it, but is a big quality of life Improvement if you do much drywalling. The blade matches the curve of a 5-gallon bucket very well, making it easy to scrape out drywall mud without wasting material. I also like that the handle has just enough clearance to fit inside the bucket without constantly rubbing on the rim.If you've ever tried loading a mud pan with a small putty knife or by tipping the bucket over, this is a huge quality-of-life improvement. It makes the job faster and a lot less messy.The tool itself is well made and easy to clean. Its simple design leaves very few places for mud or water to collect, which should help keep it in good shape for years.If you do much drywall work, this is an inexpensive tool that's definitely worth having.

The curved edge on this makes it really nice and easy to be able to pull up all the mud inside of a 5 gallon bucket. I use this for sheet rocking mud, but easily can be used for grout mortar concrete whatever you’ve got inside of a pill of a 5 gallon bucket, the curved edge allows you to scrape up and get all of the material. It has a handle on the end if you wanted to put a small stick in it personally I prefer using it without anything else, but just a little handle.
