This door knob arrives packaged very well to prevent any scratches. I ordered the nickel finish and it is beautiful. I love the design of the door knob. My husband had no trouble installing it. I did read another reviewer had some difficulty, and having a 1912 house with some of the original doors, I am thinking perhaps the troubles were because those old doors and locksets were very different. A large hole is carved into the door itself and it can really be hard to cover all that up. This knob is definitely meant to go into a modern day door knob hole, and here there are no problems that arise. I was actually hoping the back plate would be a little larger to hide some of the holes on my old doors, but that is not its purpose and it was too small for that. I think this knob is meant to look old styled in a new style door, and there it works well. I did find it a bit light weight and not as solid as some of the other high end name brand knobs we have used on other doors, so I reserved one star for the question of longevity. A nice looking knob otherwise.

This is a beautiful satin gold door knob. I absolutely love the satin finish. It’s so much nicer looking than nickel or brass in my opinion.Installation-wise, it was a breeze for me. I don’t have a great deal of experience with door knob installation, but I had no issues with this one. I was replacing a broken knob on a door in my parents’ garage and this one fit perfectly in the existing hole.Quality-wise, it looks and feels great. The knob turns smoothly without any issue, and the lock works perfectly.Overall, I think it’s fairly priced and a good value. I would definitely order another.

The store knob is great looking and appearance, and high-quality. Installation is a little bit tricky because it is smaller than your standard size knob.I was looking for something for an older home, and this worked great. I am concerned about durability given how lightweight the material is.Given the low price point, I feel like it’s good value for the money, and allowed me to add a locking mechanism to a door that did not have one.Due to the thin material, I am concerned about long-term durability.

It's a nice matte black finish. Smooth operation. I like how the lock unlocks just by turning the inside handle. It's fancy base gives it a classy look for any bedroom or bathroom door. It can be used for left hand or right hand doors with out modification. Solid metal cast makes it strong.

I have been remodeling my entire house over the past several months. It’s not a huge project, and I am mainly working on it when I have free time during the weekends. And I am not tearing down walls or replacing appliances. But instead I have been taking on smaller projects, which one of them includes replacing most of my door knobs, which were old and outdated. And because I have recently bought several different brands and styles of door knobs and handles, I can say that this door knob is definitely one of the best.The reason I mainly ordered it was because I really liked the large, thick back plate behind the knob, which gave it a unique look. And as soon as I took the knob out of the box and handled it, right away I liked the feel of it. It was much heavier than the other knobs I recently bought, and the metal felt very strong. And the latch and striker plate also felt good in my hands and were well-made.I had no issues installing the knob, especially since it lined up with the existing holes in my door, so I didn’t need to do any drilling or carving out of wood. The knob really is well-made, and there was no looseness between the plate and the knob after I screwed it into the door. And it works great. The door opens and closes smoothly, and I had no issues with the lock. And there is an emergency pinhole on the outside knob in case you lock the door by accident.If you want to buy a well-made door knob with strong metal, then I would definitely recommend this one. And the thick back plate makes it look so much better than an ordinary door knob. Because of its quality and smooth operation, I think it is worth the $36 list price.

I am upgrading my guest bathroom and aiming toward an old-world feel. This lock truly emotes old Europe. High-quality materials with a definite unique look. The instructions are clear (take note for step H that it does not state which way to put the spindle as there are notches on one side - the knob itself forces you to put it in the correct way). Also, this knob is narrow and if you have an outline from a previous knob - some will show. I have so work to do to clean up the outline on my door. However, I cannot sing the praises of this knob enough and my pics do not do it justice. Sturdy, unique, good locking mechanism, and responsive emergency unlock. I would have easily paid more for the quality. Really classy.
