This is a nice heavy duty goof ring. It could be used for recessed lights, but I am using under a ceiling fixture where the cut out in the plaster was a little bigger than the canopy that my new light fixture covers. This blends seamlessly with my ceiling and it’s nice and straight and sturdy, which gives a little bit of medallion look to the light and some dimension and size. It’s easy to use and looks great. It fits well under any light fixture, as it’s s very slim profile that lays flat on the ceiling. Overall it’s a good value and a good way to avoid having to patch around hole that was cut unevenly or too large.

This is exactly what I needed to hid a bit of gap showing on the ceiling around an installed light fixture.Simple install. Just put between the fixture and the ceiling. No screws necessary. A thin piece or two with double stick tape might help with positioning but was for my needs. Was a good fit.White matches the ceiling white pretty good. Could easily be painted, though. Thicker metal than expected. It's solid and perfectly flat. Made well.Easy and inexpensive fix for any unsightly installs you may have.

This is a metal goof plate just in case you made your drywall hole too large and need a larger trim piece to cover up your mistake. The center hole is made for recessed light fixtures or even a hanging pendant type light fixture. I am sure if you have a long enough bolt, you can use it for any other rough in. All in all, this is well made, works and is a decent price for such a sturdy item. Since it is metal, the pressure that is generated by the fixture and box does not flex this which is nice for a clean installation.
