For starters, the quality of the tape measure is excellent. It's durable and easy to use. It looks great as a standard tape measure but the little plate honoring Grandpa makes it a great gift too. If you are looking for a great Father's Day gift for someone who loves to build and fix things, look no further!

This tape measure is so adorably simple and the perfect gift for a grandpa! It comes in a cute little box with a window like sweets do. Nothing flashy or over the top - which is perfect for my dad. I used it as a Father’s Day gift from my son to my dad (his grandfather) and he loved it. My dad has worked with wood his whole life and career. I can’t think of a single time my dad doesn’t have a tape measure handy whether it’s on him, in the garage, or in the car. This is an amazing gift for the do-it-himself, I don’t need anything grandma in your life. It also has a very good weight to it and glides easily. The locking function slides into and out of locked position easily. The leather feels nice and the engraving is not shallow so it shouldn’t wear off easily. It’s a normal/average size tape measure so definitely not some small, rinky-dink, unusable knickknack. I was even able to pull it out, engage the lock, and disengage the lock with one hand as you can see in the video. I definitely would recommend this tape measure!

The leather embossing (if that's the right word) looks good and is perfectly legible.Just some notes so you understand what you're getting, if you think this tape measure seems family, it's the same model (cast, mold, whatever) as the Pittsburgh brand (see comparison pictures) from the Freight store that you occasionally could get for free.They customized a budget model tape measure, specifically the international version as it features BOTH metric and Imperial (US) measurements. Nothing wrong with that, just understand this isn't high end equipment and that's ok.If you're happy with freight of the harbor tools, you'll be plenty happy with this. For a casual gift, I'd say go for it. (If you're a crafty person with leather on hand and some glue, you could make this for "Free", but I don't have that.)

I really like this tape measure. It easily measures up to 25 feet and has both metric (cm) and imperial (feet/inches) units clearly measured. I was pretty surprised that my old tape measure didn't have both. Fortunately, this one does.The pulling and retracting of the "tape" is comparable to a standard version you'd buy at a hardware store. This one is nicer overall though since the case molding is more comfortable to grip (vs. hard metal). It also looks nicer and is a bit smaller so it'll fit easier into your toolbox. The leather message is cute and gives a nice vibe. I'm not yet a "Grandpa" but maybe someday. Until then, I'm still going to use this tape measure. :)
