Cordless Metal Shears

These metal shears feel sturdy and well-constructed, and the cordless design makes them incredibly convenient to use without needing an outlet or dealing with a power cord. They work smoothly with my DeWalt 20V battery and provide plenty of power for cutting sheet metal and other metal materials. The battery snaps right into place and the remaining energy level is clear and easy to read. The shears are comfortable to handle, easy to control, and make clean, consistent cuts with minimal effort. I especially like how much easier they make longer cutting jobs compared with using manual snips. The compact design also makes it easier to work in tighter areas. The bottom of the lower blade is thickened for safety. I give these a thumbs up!

Very pleased with the Metal Shears. My factory batteries fit perfectly and the shear operates perfectly. Very smooth cutting and easy to control your direction and speed. There is a selector for low and high speed that you can use depending on what type metal you are cutting. Also, a very handy work light mounted underneath the barrel that lights up the work area well. Battery charge indicator lights let you keep up with your battery. It is easy to change the positioning of the blades in relation to the handle. Loosen two screws. rotate the head to your desired position and tighten the screws. That is a really handy feature. It has a rubberized grip, and the tool feels good in your hand, well balanced. It is also equipped with a safety lockout. It isn't covered in the little manual. I assume that it is in case you overload or bind the shear, it will lock out automatically. Also, I always use a few drops of oil on the moving blade parts, that is not covered either. But it is a good practice.

I've never used electric shears before, but now I wish I would have tried these years ago.I'm working on finishing the siding on the back of my shed, and these are excellent. I usually use just a normal pair of tin snips / aviation snips for cutting vinyl siding and the aluminum fascia. It works well, but always leaves a jagged line.These just breezed right through both materials. It was strong enough to cut the aluminum, but didn't seem to cause any cracking in the vinyl siding.There are two settings, one for continuous cutting, and one for this weird "burst" mode... no idea how that mode would ever be useful, but it's probably important to someone.Overall though. I'm super happy with these, and it'll make the rest of this project go super smooth.

I picked this up to replace my aging and well used pneumatic metal shear tool. I like the fact that with this, I am not tethered to an air hose. I use a tool such as this to create custom electronic housing, cabinets, and enclosures for custom home automation and security products. I found the it is much easier to control cutting speed with this tool over my pneumatic shear which had a tough trigger mechanism. It was more off or full on than variable speed. This has made cutting of light aluminum ALMOST a joy. Metal working is not my forte by any means, but this electric shear is very easy to control and allows you to make intricate cuts that I would normally have had to do with hand operated shears. Arthritic hands made that task unpleasant at best.There is a small control/display panel located atop of the battery dock that shows the charge state of the battery (it didn't match up to the battery's display very well - use the battery's LEDs instead). A small control button used in conjunction with the "reversing" switch on the motor serves a dual purpose. When the "reversing" switch is in one position the small control button switches between continuous operation or burst mode (about a 1 second burst of operation for each trigger squeeze then shut off). With the "reversing" switch is in the other position the small control button switches between a high and low speed mode for the shear motor. Used in conjunction with the variable speed trigger, it is possible to cut from an extremely slow speed to a wide open "get it done" speed.As this is a third party tool designed to use a Dewalt 20V battery, I always try the fit with various OEM and third party batteries. Fit was perfect.The shear head can be rotated easily to any angle desired. Not much of a benefit for my applications but is probably advantages for certain other applications. It is available if needed.My needs for a toll such as this is modest at best and having used it a few times now, I am impressed with the perceived quality. For my needs, this should last for many years to come. The current price is $50 USD which I consider to be a very attractive price given what seems to be a well built tool. Worth it to me to not have to contend with an air hose or hand shears. Recommended for the DIYer at least - maybe the Pro shop as well.

Another great product from DeMiMa!Right out of the box you can feel the weight to them. Once the battery is hooked up the weight balances out that the tool stands up nicely (I thought the head may be too heavy and they would topple).Once again this is the tool only and you use the batteries that you already have for your set of tools. I have Milwaukee so I select that option when ordering and I get the tool that takes my battery and it comes in red to match my other name brand tools.I don’t have to cut tin sheets a lot but when I do I have to borrow the neighbors scissor snips that work good but tire me out!! I have a couple of big projects coming up that I need these to cut some roofing tin and hopefully make my project go faster with less hand fatigue.I did a lot of practicing with these and had a little difficulty getting started but after some time practicing I was able to make straight cuts and curve into a 90 angle easier than using the old scissor snips.I do wish the display was more readable (I had to take a picture of it and then enlarge it just to read it). Once I knew what it said then it is easy to know just by looking at the lights; the top light is high power and the bottom light is low power and the round light in the corner is reverse. The reverse is good if I need to back out after getting stuck. But sometimes I still had to forcefully remove it. And the only other thing I wish it had was a separate lock button. The push switch you push one way for forward and the other way for reverse is also the lock button that you have to place it in the middle. I always find that I still bump the trigger when carrying the tool and sometimes I don’t have the push button just right in the middle and the tool goes off; but that’s just me.5-exceeds my expectations!!!4-meets my expectations!!3-falls short of my expectations2-failed my expectations!1-terrible product, do not buy!!!

I've tried several DEMIMA cordless tools now, and this metal shear continues to make a good impression of the brand. It feels substantial in the hand without being excessively heavy, and the rubberized grip gives you good control. I also appreciate that it uses DeWalt 20V batteries since I can use batteries I already own rather than adding another proprietary battery system to the collection. Keep in mind that this is sold as a tool-only product, so a battery is not included.One of my favorite features is the variable-speed trigger. Instead of simply being full power the moment you pull the trigger, the cutting speed responds to how far you squeeze it. That gives you considerably more control when starting a cut or working through an area where you want to take things slowly. Once you're lined up, you can squeeze further and let the brushless motor do its thing. There's plenty of power behind it.The forward/reverse control is another feature I'm glad they included. Reverse may not seem terribly important on a cutting tool until you get yourself into an awkward cut or the head gets caught up on something. Being able to reverse and back the tool out instead of fighting with it is genuinely useful. The 360-degree rotatable cutting head is also a smart design choice because sheet metal work isn't always going to give you the luxury of approaching a cut from the most comfortable angle.Build quality on the actual tool is quite good. The cutting head is mostly metal and feels much more substantial than I expected from the listing photos. There's also an LED work light, which is helpful when you're following a line in a poorly lit work area. The combination of the rotating head, variable trigger and cordless design makes this much easier to maneuver than something that has you fighting both the material and a power cord.Packaging was also good. Mine arrived well protected in fitted foam with the tool wrapped separately inside the box. After my experience with the carrying case on another DEMIMA tool, I was happy to see this one arrive securely packed and without any apparent damage.Overall, I'm impressed. The biggest standout isn't simply that it has plenty of power, but how much control you have over that power. The variable-speed trigger, reverse function and rotating head all contribute something useful rather than feeling like features added just to pad the specification list. If you already have compatible DeWalt 20V batteries and need a cordless option for cutting sheet metal, this is a very practical addition to the tool collection.

I don't do a lot of sheet metal work, but I always hate it when I do. Cutting straight, having clean edges, not having sore fingers...all things I wished for before. So when I saw this and read that I could use existing batteries, I ordered it.Pulling it out of the box, I noticed the heft. Not overweight, but definitely well built and sturdy. It has a good feel in your hand, and it has power. The head rotates so you don't have to worry about the handle being in the way in tight spots. (It even comes with tools and extra screws & nuts in case you lose any while rotating the head.) It's very smooth at cutting straight lines. (Curves...not so much.) Overall, I'm very happy with the Demima cordless shears.

I've been looking into buying the Dewalt Metal Shear Attachment for year but wasn't sold on the cost or the setup. I like the idea of a tool that has a specific job - so when I saw this Demima tool that was compatible with my Dewalt batteries I was intrigued. I also couldn't help but notice that it's priced well. I'm happy to report that not only is this tool compatible with Dewalt batteries but it also performs flawlessly. I tested the shears on corrugated metal roofing (the primary material I use) and these shears made quick work and clean cuts. The jaws nibbled cleanly through the metal when I applied minor forward pressure. The cut was clean and the tool traveled easily along the cut line. This tool also has an option to turn the cutting head if needed. Overall the performance is fantastic, the build is solid and the option to turn the cutting head is a nice additional performance feature. Great addition to my collection!
