Waterproof Sealant, Transparent, 17.6 Ounce Review:I got this for the lid of a small trashcan, the kind that has the handle that you can carry and use as a trashcan or as a bucket. Our last one rusted right out when I thought it was supposed to be pretty impervious to rust.Turns out that these get scratched up all over their tops, often before they ever arrive at your house, so it's a good idea ot apply some kind of sealant, like this.For outdoor cans, I might want to something thicker or more heavy duty, but those all tend to smell really awful and tend to make us sick. They aren't really suitable for indoor use. This one seems okay for us, but we'll see if it bothers us in any way over time. I think it's pretty good. I just hope it will be effective enough. We're using it on the top of this trash can and around the bottom edge and the handle and will see how it does.

A clear waterproof sealant can be incredibly handy to keep around for small maintenance projects. The water-based formula and transparent finish make it easier to use in visible areas where a messy-looking patch would be annoying. I would still judge effectiveness by surface prep and curing time, especially on roofs, walls, patios, or other outdoor spots, but the 17.6 oz size seems useful for several small repairs. For the price, the versatility is the main appeal.

Perfect to seal the gaps around my window frames to keep out heavy rain. You could sometimes hear a whistling sound from the wind coming from the window gaps that stopped. So far, it’s working really well – no more leaks or whistling sounds. It’s easy to apply, it dries quickly and hardly noticeable. Only time will tell how durable it is, but for now, it’s holding up great. It worked better than expected.
