It's a pretty complete setup for someone that needs solder tools.It contains:spongy squares to wipe the solder tipa syringe of soldering flux paste (it seems runny to average flow at higher temps)a syringe of no clean lead free solder paste (I never used this before so I like it)3 syringe tips and covers (I clogged one by getting it too close to heat, I'm glad there were 3)copper mesh in a can to quickly clean the tipdesoldering wick 2.5mm (not very wide, but it works fine)tip tinned (I don't have a dirty tip yet so I couldn't try it)10 soldering tips of varying sizes (my new favorite it the thin one)The tips fit my solder gun perfectly. Trying out the small tip worked great on the small legs of the chip I de-soldered. After that board, I soldered the radio wires for my truck. The solder flowed fine and the radio worked the first time after plugging it in.My opinion: This is a great kit to get into soldering. All you need is the soldering gun and you are good to go. I believe this kit will last a long time.

I’ve been using this for small soldering and repair jobs, and I like having so many of the little maintenance items together in one kit. The brass/copper mesh cleaner does a good job knocking off buildup without constantly cooling the tip like a wet sponge can.The flux and solder wick have also been useful for cleanup and rework, and the lead-free solder paste is a nice extra to have around. I like that they included several replacement tips too, although you’ll want to check the size and compatibility with your particular soldering iron before counting on those. They did not work with any of my soldering irons. The tips and sponges feel more like basic extras than premium components.This is a good value for someone who does DIY electronics or occasional soldering and wants a bunch of useful supplies in one package. It’s not a professional-grade kit, but for general repairs and keeping your soldering tip clean and usable, it covers a lot of bases.

I create stained glass and also dabble in electronics, so soldering iron maintenance is pretty critical in my workshop.This set comes with some tip tinner, desoldering wick, a tube of flux with tips, sponge pads, brass wire, and an assortment of 10 different iron tips.Each component of this set looks to be decent quality. Everything looks well-made and suitable for its intended purpose.The make-up of this set was thoughtful. It includes all of the basic elements needed to maintain a soldering iron tip.I especially like the inclusion of all of the different tips. It allows for versatility across different project types as well as experimentation with tips I've not used before. Since tips are not universal, you'd want to ensure a fit for your iron.Keeping the iron tip well maintained allows for the best results and speed efficiency, not to mention, overall enjoyment working on a project. Nothing is worse than a bad tip when trying to make a nice solder line!For the quality of the components of the set along with the usefulness in the workshop, I think the price is very fair. I am pleased with this set and consider it a valuable addition to my shop.

But this is more than just a tip cleaning kit; it could actually be seen as a sort-of "getting started" kit for those new to soldering. Add solder and a 900M-style soldering iron and you're all set to solder.Here's what you get:• Solder paste: a low-temperature lead-free paste that is great for surface mount work and also for desoldering. Comes in a syringe applicator.• Flux paste: used for cleaning tips, but is also used to aid in flowing solder into joints. Comes in a syringe applicator.• Granular tip tinner: a mix of solder powder and fluxes that deep-cleans and re-coats badly oxidized soldering iron tips.• Desoldering wick: used for "mopping" up solder after too much has been applied, but can also be used to aid removal of old solder during rework.• A nice size assortment of ten 900M-style soldering tips. If you don't own a soldering iron that can make use of 900M-style tips, it wouldn't be a bad idea to invest in a cheap one, just to make use of these tips on projects where you don't necessarily want to use your primary iron.• Compressed sponge pads: add water, watch them increase in size, then wipe hot soldering iron tips on them.• "Chore girl" style wire sponge: for more abrasive cleaning. This is not brass as described, but actually copper.For the price, this is a decent kit. A good flux gel could cost you half of what this entire kit costs, so this is quite a deal. Are these top-of-the-line supplies? No, but they are of sufficient quality for those learning the craft of electronics, as well as for the casual tech.Recommended.

This kit has everything someone needs to get started other than a soldering iron. The brass tip brush comes in a dedicated tin and is dense enough to firmly scrub your soldering iron tips. The included sponges measure 2⅝ in. square which will match most major brand soldering iron holders in length and width, but these are noticeably much thinner at only ¼ in. thick.Solder paste and flux are both helpfully included in the kit. The flux is nice and thick and does not run or drip when soldering on an angled surface. The solder paste features a lower melting point and, when used alongside the flux, flows very nicely across joints.A variety of soldering tips are included, but I have found that soldering tip sizing tends to be somewhat proprietary when it comes to the irons they will work with. Exact measurements are included for these specific tips for you to measure and compare for potential use with your iron. These tips are not of high quality. Quality tips are made with a coppor core for fast and even heat distribution, and are then coated with nickel or chrome. I files one of these tips down and it does not have a copper core so they will not heat quickly or evenly which will make soldering with these tips more difficult and possibly require a higher temperature setting than should be used.The tinning compound is unusually dense and quite hard to use effectively. The heated tip does not easily sink in to melt the compound the way it typically happens with other brands.I give the kit 3 stars because It unfortunately loses points for the poor tinning compound and the included tips being of poor quality and of a size that doesn't fit popular major brands.

I already own soldering supplies for home jobs requiring leaded solder, but I was looking for an all-in-one solder kit to handle soldering jobs on the sensitive lead-free electronic jobs on my drones. Leaded solder and lead-free solder do not play together well, so it is important to keep each of these solders separate. Anything that is imported into the USA has to use lead-free solder, and ALL of my drones come from overseas, so having the correct solder and tools on hand is a must for me.This kit comes with everything I need to have a complete combination of lead-free soldering components together and separate from my leaded soldering tools. There is enough consumable solder paste & flux in this applicator to handle a LOT of small soldering jobs, and besides - it is easy to order just the paste & flux separately when needed. The dedicated lead-free soldering tips and accessories are what make this kit valuable to me.I do wish this kit came with a storage container that would hold this kit all together, but that would have increased the total cost of this kit - so I'll come up with my own storage container. Not worth deducting one star IMO.

A quick wipe through the brass wool clears off excess solder and flux while keeping the iron ready for the next joint.The traditional sponge is also included for anyone who prefers that method. It should be damp rather than swimming, unless the goal is to introduce a hot soldering tip to thermal shock as a recreational activity.The tip tinner is one of the most useful parts of the kit. Oxidized tips eventually stop accepting solder properly and develop a dark surface that makes every joint unnecessarily difficult. A little tip tinner can restore a clean solderable surface and sometimes save a tip that looked ready for retirement.The solder wick is handy for removing excess solder, clearing pads, and correcting bridges.
