Farmhouse Semi Flush Mount Ceiling Light

Once I finally got it installed, this beautiful light became one of my favorites. It perfectly matches the pendant lights and chandelier in my kitchen. We did have a bit of difficulty installing it, but we are not very experienced with light installation.

We hung this above the kitchen island and it throws a nice warm glow. The 14.6 inch width is just right for our space, not too overpowering. The black cage pattern on the ceiling is a subtle touch that guests notice.

Put this in our hallway and it fits nicely without hogging visual space. The black hexagonal cage throws interesting shadows on the ceiling. Light output is solid for the area, and it doesn't feel bulky overhead.

When the light is on, the hex cage throws a nice geometric pattern onto the ceiling. That detail makes a plain hallway look a bit more designed. I didn't expect that effect, so it was a pleasant surprise. Brightness is good for a semi flush mount.

This light fixture had the honor of being the first one to officially replace one of the contractor-grade "boob lights" in our house. If you have them, you know EXACTLY what I'm talking about!I love the farmhouse/industrial style of this fixture. It adds so much more personality than the basic light it replaced while still being simple enough to work with the rest of our décor.The semi-flush design is also great because it stays close enough to the ceiling that it doesn't become something taller people have to dodge when walking underneath it.Since the bulb is exposed, I chose a larger Edison-style bulb instead of a traditional light bulb, and I definitely recommend doing the same. It really completes the farmhouse look and makes the bulb feel like part of the design rather than just something screwed into the fixture.It looks great installed and was an easy way to give the space an instant update.One contractor boob light down...several more to go! This is a nice little fixture, and the geometric shadow cast by the hexagonal black cage is exactly the effect I wanted from this style of light. At 9.4 inches and priced well under $20, it's a great value for a farmhouse-style fixture like this. The cage feels like aluminum or another lightweight metal. It is somewhat thin, but that really does not matter once the fixture is hanging. It came with clear instructions, mounting hardware, and everything necessary for installation, backed by a one-year manufacturer warranty. Overall, this was a very easy DIY project, and I am pleased with the finished result.
