Couldn’t ask for more. Metal base. Seems solid. Comes with instructions, an Allen wrench and 2 extra clamps. I can’t believe another reviewer was complaining about assembly. You’re going to be using this for electronics or fine parts? It was painfully easy to put together with minimal parts took me about two minutes. All you’re doing is screwing the feet. And the arms together with the plate via big screws.

Pros I like:• Exactly what I needed for soldering• Keeps wires tight and secure• Worked perfectly on a PCB board• Two arms articulate while the others stay static – great versatility• Will definitely get a lot of useCons/Notes:• NoneThis helping hands soldering station is exactly what I needed. It keeps wires tight when soldering. I even used it for a PCB board – did perfect. Two of the “hands” articulate while the other ones remain static – perfect for versatility. I will be using this a lot.

Upon receiving the box, and opening it, I was mildly surprised that assembly was required. Not a big deal, the assembly instructions were clear enough. However, and the reason I deducted a star, is because I could not thread one of the bolts through one of the corner holes which attach the rubber feet. It wasn’t the screw as it would thread into other holes fine. I had to run a M6 tap through it to fix the threads. Not a big deal. But if I didn’t have a tap and die set, I would probably have to send this back. I would have deducted more stars for that. But I have a feeling I was just unlucky and lost units won’t share the same issue.Upon finally getting it assembled, it’s a pretty nice stand to help with soldering projects. The base is nice and thick with enough weight to keep everything stable. The arms are easily flexible, but also sturdy. The alligator clips are secure and it includes two extras.Aside from the assembly hiccup, I’m happy with this soldering station and the price seems proportional to what you receive.
