Cordless Angle Grinder

I picked this up because I already have plenty of 20V Dewalt batteries from my drill set and wanted to add an angle grinder to the garage without needing another proprietary charger system. The tool feels solid out of the box and it works perfectly with the high capacity batteries I already own. The cordless design is a huge convenience for moving around outside without dragging an extension cord everywhere.The brushless motor provides strong and consistent power that does not bog down under load. Having three different speed settings is actually really useful. I use the lower speed for cleaning up rust and polishing metal parts, while the highest speed has plenty of torque for cutting through metal stock smoothly. It runs surprisingly quiet and I did not notice any excessive vibration in my hands even when running it at the max speed for extended periods.Changing out the wheels is quick thanks to the spindle lock button. It uses a standard size spindle so finding replacement cutting discs or grinding wheels at the local hardware store is simple. The plunger switch takes a little getting used to if you prefer a paddle style trigger, but it works reliably. The included universal guard and safety lock are nice additions that keep things safe while swapping discs. It is a capable grinder for everyday projects around the house.

This is a very nice cordless, battery powered angle grinder. I’ve owned a couple of these off-brand (non-DeWalt, but DeWalt compatible) tools and my experience with all of them has been good. Of course these are not the same as an original DeWalt, but it’s still a decent tool and has always preformed as I needed. Sturdy and well made and most definitely gets the job done - and gets it done well. The body / housing of the tool is solid and not cheaply made. The motor runs runs smoothly and seems durable. Motor is rated at 800 watts and has three speed functions - fast enough for any application. Max RPM is at 10,000, more than enough in my experience and level. And even at full / high speed, the tool operates smoothly with no vibration. One unique feature is the ability to swivel the grinding head. This angle grinder is compatible with standard DeWalt-style 20V batteries (but not included here). The package comes with 6 wheel attachments (cutting and grinding wheels). They also include a wheel guard, removable handle grip, safety glasses and a pair of gloves. Not bad! This has a standard plunger switch to activate as opposed to paddle switches you see on some models. Personally I prefer the plunger, but that depends on the person and application. Of course if you’re a trades guy and anticipate heavy duty usage, I might consider an original DeWalt, but short of that this tool is a solid choice. Especially considering the price difference - and given the cost, this is a great value for the money. Overall I’m very pleased and this angle grinder is nice addition to my tool set.

For projects involving both grinding and cutting, this setup is far more efficient than single-task operation.
