I pull a jet ski around on a trailer frequently and use these retractable ratchet straps on the back to keep the ski in place. The mechanism is of good quality and does not bind up in use. I love not having a bunch of extra strap tails to deal with. The length is functional for a lot of purposes not just a ket ski. Easy to use and a good value when trailering things.

These straps work great. You can tell they are sturdy and I don't doubt the 1500lb rating, although I haven't tried them with anything near that weight. The ratcheting works fine and they seem to avoid coming apart better than similar products I've had in the past.I think this is a no-brainer buy if yo need some tie down straps.

Those traditional ratchet straps are a nightmare to me! It seems like every time that I use them, it is a guessing game as to if I am threading them correctly. Then, when it comes to releasing the traditional ratchet straps, it is a matter of keep working with them until I get everything exactly correct so that they will come undone! Irritating & a complete waste of time!Not the case here! These Cartman ratchet straps are 1 piece each. No time-consuming threading one end to the other end of the strap. The blue button on these ratchet straps serves to give you slack AND to retract the ratchet strap slack, when you are preparing to put them away for storage. Naturally, you still have to use the "ratchet" motion to tighten the straps on your load. It really cannot get any easier than this!I really like that these ratchet straps have carabineer style hooks with rubber to help secure, if the carabineer itself does not completely close. These straps arrived with a handy storage bag, so that you can easily keep them together & recognize what they are.I have made 2 round trips with my mower using these ratchet straps. I have found these ratchet straps hold tight & are strong. They are well made & durable. Now instead of dreading using ratchet straps, I approach the task with ease & confidence.

I absolutely love the fact that these ratchet straps are fully retractable. Dealing with traditional tie downs is always a massive headache because the loose webbing inevitably ends up tangled into a giant bird's nest in a storage box or the back of the truck. With this retractable design, you just press down on the blue lever and the strap pulls right back into the central housing automatically, which saves a ton of time and completely eliminates the usual mess.​When I first pulled them out of the bag, I will admit I had a few doubts. Although the straps hold perfectly fine, I was initially concerned about the thickness of the straps as they are on the thinner side. They felt a bit lightweight compared to some of the heavy, thick traditional options I have used in the past, and I wasn't entirely sure if they would actually hold up under real tension.​Fortunately, after putting them to work securing a few different loads, those worries totally vanished. The ratcheting mechanism locks down tight, the clicks feel secure, and nothing slips or budges at all during transit. Not having long tails flapping in the wind or needing to tie off extra slack is a huge bonus. They make hauling quick, clean, and organized.

Tried these out strapping camping gear onto a trailer one afternoon then boxes the next for a quick move and that self retracting part changed how the job felt. Instead of a loose end waving around after tension you get it tight and finished fast. Hook the loops thread them through pull hard. Release and it winds back into the housing on its own so no dragging over gravel picking up dirt. The 1500 lbs break strength matched what the thick webbing and metal parts looked like sturdy enough for real use. The little storage bag stops them knotting up the way cords always do a minor win until you skip it once. Ratcheting holds without extra muscle automatic pull back trims the whole process and cuts the mess two in the pack fits loads with several spots to tie. Learning curve showed up though the mechanism works smooth once you figure the feed but you need light hand on release or it bunches inside. Eleven and a half feet covered what I needed yet wider or taller paths could run out of length. Worth it for anyone reaching for straps often since you get the pair the bag and solid cycles afterward without early wear typical trailer or truck jobs stay covered. Ends up acting like it belongs not like it fights every step.
