I tested this with several types and applications of concrete, from regular old 4000psi sack mix to the rapid set stuff. The trowel works exactly like you'd expect and leaves a nice smooth finish as long as the operator has the requisite skill. This trowel is pretty versatile in that you can use it for almost any kind of concrete or similar product. It cleans easily but can develop some rust, as any steel can. I recommend cleaning and drying it after each use, and applying a coat of shop wax or dry lube before storing it for a long time. If you're a homeowner/diyer, you'll never, ever wear this out - it is a one time purchase and very durable. If you're a concrete professional, you're probably not reading reviews on Amazon - but this will work just as well as any other steel trowel. For the cost, this is a good tool and will last me forever, even though I'll probably use it more than most. Good value.

I ama retired contractor who has done more drywall work than I care to remember. I always have looked for the best tools to do a good job and make it as easy as possible. Goldblatt is a brand that has always delivered for me and this Goldblatt 20" x 4" Finishing Trowel is no exception. It is well made of quality materials, durable, and has a very comfortable, ergonomic grip. It is versatile enough to be used for drywall mudding or concrete work. The 20" x 4" blade would make it nice for doing Spanish knock-down textures too. I got it specifically to use to parge my brick chimney with mortar. The 20 inch length will make that much easier. The edges are nice and straight, but just a little rough, so I will smooth them with some 1,000 grit sand paper. Overall, a good value, as Goldblatt products usually are.

This drywall trowel is solidly made and the highlight of it compared to others is the size of the handle, in that it is large diameter which is very comfortable to grip and hold onto for a longer period of time. The attachment point of the handle to the blade is a long metal bar about 1/2 inch x 1/2 inch which adds stability to the overall blade. The blade itself is a good thickness and should hold up to continued use. The price is about fair compared with others of similar quality. There are quite a few sizes to purchase, and the 14” that I got suits me well.
