Wow, this 4 pack came in so handy when I was installing a new outdoor outlet. I needed a little more length since my new box mounted on the wall instead of inside the wall. Although I am not a fan of using stranded wire for some projects, I am confident that I will be satisfied with the quality of this wire. I am also confident that I will be using this wire up before I can bequeath it to my children.

I ordered this wire set because I regularly work on both solar projects and automotive electrical projects, and I wanted heavier-gauge wire without having to purchase several full-size rolls in different colors. My first use for it was wiring an amplifier and speakers in the trunk of my 2001 Volkswagen Cabrio.The wire feels thick, solid, and substantial in your hands, which is exactly what I wanted for a higher-power application. At the same time, it was still flexible enough to route through the tighter areas of the Cabrio’s interior and into the trunk. Heavy-gauge wire can sometimes be so stiff that it becomes frustrating to run around trim panels, through openings, and into the final mounting location, but this was manageable for my installation.The insulation also feels durable and gave me confidence while pulling and positioning the wire. I did not feel like I had to handle it delicately to avoid damaging the outer covering. The different colors are useful for keeping the wiring organized, especially when you have several connections running near each other. It makes it much easier to identify power, ground, and the other circuits later instead of having a trunk full of identical-looking wires.The included lengths worked well for the type of localized wiring I was doing around the amplifier and speakers in the trunk. The good news is that the wire strands do seem to be fully copper. However, the wire itself (both 6AWG and 10 AWG) is very rigid. The insulation is hard and even a bit thin for the 6 AWG wire. When I say that the wire is rigid, I mean I can hold on to the wire at the end of a roll and support the full weight of a ten-foot roll without it bending at all. If you have a straight run, this can work for you. Other than that, forget it. See the picture to see that the 6 AWG is actually 7 AWG. I'll find some use for the wire, but certainly not what I expected it to be.
