This electrical box is UL listed, it provides a waterproof electrical housing that can be used for many purposes. Internally, there are threaded mounting holes to attach to. A mounting plate comes with it that you can customize. Also included are brackets for mounting it to some structure and 2 waterproof cable glands. This box is made of plastic, but it is very durable feeling and quite versatile. The internal size is 7.87"L x 5.9"W x 4" lots of room for electronics. There is a waterproof seal around the edge of the box. This is definitely a cost effective solution and probably the best project box that I've ever seen, and will work great for my application.

This is a really good quality outdoor rated junction box! I used this in a recent solar project and it seals and performs well! Even comes with mounting tabs and glands too. The medium is a good size to fit a good array of solar breakers and even a bit of control hardware. At the original $40 price point I would have said it would be a bit high for a plastic box. I’d consider moving it to a non sunny side just so the plastic doesn’t get heat damaged. But at the current price around $28, it’s a great value!

I needed a weatherproof enclosure to house a surge protection device (SPD), and this one was exactly right. It's NEMA 4X rated and made from polycarbonate, which won't melt or burn under heat the way some ABS boxes can -- a real consideration where I live. It's also genuinely UL Listed (E539395), which is surprisingly rare on Amazon; a lot of enclosures in this category skip that certification entirely, and for anything housing electrical equipment, that's not a corner worth cutting. Drilling a ¾" hole for the wiring was easy and left a clean, well-formed opening, and the internal mounting plate drilled just as cleanly for mounting the SPD. I also like that the exterior mounting brackets can be positioned horizontally or vertically depending on your install. I compared a lot of listings before landing on this one, and I'm glad I did.
