These cables are solid copper. There are multiple strands - 19 on the 6awg cables, but each strand is fairly thick. These are not tinned, so keep that in mind for outdoor use. They also are not nearly as flexible as the welding cables I purchased earlier. But if those limitations do not matter for your install, these cables should work really well.
This seems like decent THHN wire. The sheathing is pretty average. It doesn't get overly bound on anything and feels reasonably thick. The wires bend decently. It feels like your typical bulk THHN wire cut down to size. This color codes 4 pack is a decent choice if you need a short length of the basic colors.
Works as designed. Used for my Tesla charger.
High quality, heavy duty 6AWG THHN wiring kit. This comes with three 6AWG wires for L1, L2, and neutral, as well as a 10AWG ground wire. I got the 5 ft long kit which is a perfect fit for short runs like a sub panel or power inlet. This THHN is UL listed and uses stranded (20-core) copper with heavy, tough nylon insulation rated to withstand up to 90°C. This means it is rated for up to 75A under the NEC. It's pretty stiff and difficult to maneuver, but it's no more difficult to use than the name brand stuff. Overall the quality is perfectly acceptable and I have no doubt it will hold up just as well as the name brands. The price makes it a pretty compelling alternative.
Pulling this wire bundle through a short section of rigid conduit was smooth thanks to the slick nylon coating over the insulation. The individual strands of copper inside are high quality and flex easily around tight bend radii without kink points forming. Having the black, red, white, and green ground wires grouped together in a five-foot pre-cut bundle saved me from buying massive individual spools for a minor electrical modification. Stripping the tough outer jacket with standard wire strippers was clean, exposing bright copper that clamped tightly under terminal screws. The insulation feels durable enough to handle scrape hazards against metal junction box edges during installation. Standard NEC color coding made tracking the line, neutral, and ground legs completely mindless while terminating the circuit. It is a convenience-focused wire pack that performs reliably for quick, short-run electrical setups.
This stranded pure copper wire is rated THHN/THWN-2 (marked on wire), it meets the National Electrical Code (NEC) for residential and commercial installations. It is suitable for use up to 90° C. If you need to pull the wire through conduit, the nylon sheathing will make it much easier. The insulation's temperature rating makes it safe for use at up to 75 Amperes. My application is for solar power systems with high currents. Be sure to get some lugs for 6 AWG stranded wire and a suitable crimper to attach this to the devices you will be using. The insulation is rated for 600 Volts DC, and the THWN marking indicates it can be used in wet or dry conditions.
Product title at the time of review:5 FT 6 AWG THHN Stranded Copper Wire – Black, Red, White with 10 AWG Green Ground – 600V Color-Coded Building Wire for Residential, Commercial, Industrial & HVAC SystemsWhat I liked:* Good overall build quality and materials that feel sturdy and reliable for the price.* Flexible, as far as 6AWG can get.* The ground wire is 10AWG as noted in the product description. This is perfectly fine and fully code compliant, just something worth pointing out so expectations are clear.* Excellent value for the money compared to similar options.* Performs as expected with no issues in use so far. What I didn’t like:* Nothing significant to report. This is a solid product that delivers on quality and value. The 10AWG ground wire meets requirements without any concerns, making it a practical choice for the intended application.
These are high-quality copper wires (a set of four colors and 5 ft in length) that can be used for small repairs. They are thick copper wires (AWG 6) for bigger appliance electric circuits, not for a regular outlet or light fixture. Be careful with electrical installations and repairs. Most are better done by a professional electrician. However, for simply exchanging a piece of old wire, these will do perfectly. Wires of this size and quality are expensive, and this is a good buy.
