2.4FT Warm White Marquee Light Up Numbers

Cute in Pictures, but Flimsy and Needs ReinforcementAt 2.4 feet tall, this number 8 is a nice size for birthday pictures and my daughter loved having a large number showing her new age. The warm white lights look cute when they are turned on, and I still prefer this over an oversized number balloon.However, the construction was disappointing. This is not a solid, three-dimensional marquee number. It is a flat foam-board number that arrives folded into thirds, with a small foot piece that is supposed to hold it upright. The folded joints felt weak, so I reinforced them with hot glue and added extra support across the back. The base is also very lightweight and needs to be weighted down to keep the number from falling over.The round light covers push through the foam board and connect to a basic string of lights. Several of the covers didn’t snap securely into place, which made assembly more frustrating than it should have been. It also requires three AA batteries, which are not included.Once reinforced and assembled, it looks nice from the front and serves its purpose. Still, I expected better quality and stability. It’s okay for a party or pictures, but be prepared to put extra work into making it stand securely.

Assembly isn't too difficult, but you'll need your own hot-glue gun/super glue and 3 AA batteries (I got mine from the dollar store), since neither is included. The foam-board pieces are lightweight and come pre-cut, so putting everything together is fairly straightforward. The material is a little on the flimsy side, though, so I would recommend adding some extra glue or support around the joints to make it more secure. Once assembled, the lights a warm and look nice and are a good size for the number. I also like that it is battery powered, so you can place it wherever you want without worrying about an outlet. I would definitely use this indoors rather than outdoors. Because it is so lightweight, I don't think it would hold up well in the wind and it could easily get knocked over. Overall, the quality is decent for the price, and makes for a good statement piece for a cake or dessert table or as a photo prop.

I ordered the number one for my great-niece’s first birthday celebration. She is only six months old now, but I already know we are going to have an amazing party when she reaches that milestone!I have not assembled it yet, but I opened the package and looked through all the pieces. The directions appear straightforward, and the foam-board sections are already cut to make assembly easier. You will need a hot-glue gun and three AA batteries, which are not included, so make sure you have those before getting started.The pieces are lightweight and should make the finished number easy to move around, but the material still feels firm and sturdy. It does not seem flimsy or like it will flop over once assembled. At nearly two and a half feet tall, it should make a great statement piece and photo prop, and the white finish will coordinate with almost any party theme.Because I have not assembled or turned it on yet, I cannot speak to the brightness of the lights or how long the batteries will last. I will update my review after the party with those details. Based on the size, material, and overall presentation so far, it appears to be a great value.

It is perfect for an upcoming birthday party. The number 8 was super simple to set up and took me less than ten minutes. I didn’t even need to use the included instructions because everything fit together seamlessly. Once assembled, it looks great. The size is just right, not too big or too small, and it makes a nice statement piece for a backdrop or photo area.The quality feels solid for the price and I can definitely see this being reused a few times with no issues. The warm lights give it a clean glow that works well for party decor.I would absolutely recommend this marquee number if you want something easy to assemble, good looking, and reusable for celebrations.

Update: I used cheap Dollar Tree’s batteries. The set lasted for both parties; probably 7 hours.Original review: A year ago I bought a OH BABY small plastic light up marquee letters for my daughter’s baby shower. They were a hit, then borrowed 5 times. I originally thought this was going to be similar. I read the Amazon description and quickly realized it wasn’t going to be quite the same, but still wanted it for my grandson’s first birthday party. It will look cute propped up on a book shelf or piece of furniture with a bunch of balloons around it. Up close it’s not as impressive, the foam board is plain, thin and no details. I think it would look better painted, which I might do!! Then the white lights will pop at his daytime party. I followed the directions and got my hot glue gun out, which luckily i own. As directed, I applied a thin strip of glue inside the seams of the foam board creases, this helps keep the number straight up so it does not bend in half. As I was doing this, I thought how am I going to store this, it would be so much easier if I had taped it. As I was putting the fairy lights into the round light bulb covers one of the light was giving me a hard time clicking into place and I must’ve applied to much pressure and with that the board bent slightly and one of the hot glued seams came undone. I then taped that seam with scotch tape. I should’ve done that to begin with! Most of the fairy lights snapped into the bulbs easily, two of them gave me a hard time. At first I did not end up fasting the battery box to the board. I could not get the battery box open. I ended up using a little screwdriver to push in on the one end’s tab and of course I broke the plastic tab. The battery box can be taped closed, luckily once the batteries are installed they don’t pop out, so the cover is not a necessity, but it will stay in place with a little piece of tape. The marquee number lights up nicely in a dark room. It’s a cute idea, but it's cheaply made. Two backboard supports snap into the number and they rest on another piece of foam board to help the sign stand upright. I do not think this would be stable enough if outdoors, the slightest amount of wind would knock this signage over. They do recommend you use a weight bag to hold the sign in place. I’m glad I bought it, but I’m not sure I would highly recommend it. I really liked the plastic formed marquis letters I had for the baby shower because they have shape and structure. This is foam board, which is not as durable. I’m not sure if all of my friends can borrow this for their grandchildren‘s first birthday, I think it might be a one or two party and done decor. Assembly looked intimidating when you open the box, however it’s pretty straightforward. Though I suggest taping the seams instead of gluing. I also taped the excess wiring to the board so that it was less noticeable from an angle. I really think I’m going to spray paint the board blue so that the lights stand out on the marquee. The lights are a pretty warm white, my photos look greenish, they aren’t green. Buying one letter is affordable, though I think it should be priced a dollar or 2 cheaper. I would not pay $34 for double digit number. Currently, there is no discount to buy two or more numbers. It did come in a cardboard box and was completely protected during shipping. It included detailed directions and a QR code to watch a set up video. 3 AA batteries are required to light the fairy lights, batteries were not included. It also came with an extra double sided foam sticker a few extra ball shaped bulb covers.3.5-4 stars. .
