Shelf Pin Jig 11 Holes

I do a lot of cabinetry installation, and I also build pantrys in people's kitchens that are basically closets, and I have been using this shelf pin jig on my last few jobs. It's extremely easy to set up how you want it, it's system 32 compatible and has a very nice carrying case that holds all of the equipment perfectly, even with room to spare. It comes with nice drill bits and stop collars, although I swapped mine for my 1/4 inch collet bits that have a stop collar so I can use them in my impact, which is what I use when I'm doing shelf pin holes. This leaves flawless, factory quality holes that any craftsman would be proud of. It comes with both the 1/4 inch and 5mm drill bits, along with everything you need to make perfect shelving except the clamp. You definitely want a nice clamp that won't mar your workpiece. I also use the Magmaniac jig to do all of my pulls. I had one I'd been using for a few years, then found a very nice one. Right after I found the Magmaniac one and it's my favorite. I highly recommend this jig, and I hope you love it as much as I do. I'm batting 1000 with this company, and couldn't be happier with the precision and quality of their tools. Their easy to adjust, extremely durable and make doing repeatable tasks flawless. This is absolutely worth the money. You may be able to find a less expensive one, but it won't come close to this. Buy once, cry once. It's worth the money to have the peace of mind you won't need to replace a cabinet because you messed up.

This jig works really well for adding adjustable shelving to cabinets where straight, evenly spaced holes are important. Used on a cabinet side panel, the built in clamping setup held the guide firmly against the edge while drilling the entire row, so there was no need to keep repositioning a separate clamp after every few holes. The 32mm spacing produced a clean, consistent pattern that lined up properly from one side of the cabinet to the other.The flip design is especially handy. One side handles 5mm shelf pins and the other handles 1/4 inch pins, so changing sizes does not involve removing and swapping a bunch of individual guide bushings. The metal construction also feels much more rigid than the plastic shelf pin templates commonly sold at home improvement stores. Those plastic guides can flex slightly when a drill is pushed against the bushing, while this one stays planted and keeps the bit centered.The included depth control was useful when drilling finished cabinet panels because the bit could be set to stop before breaking through the opposite face. After the initial adjustment, drilling a full row went quickly. The reference markings for concealed hinges are another useful addition, particularly when shelf pin holes and hinge locations are being laid out during the same cabinet build.At around the mid forty dollar range, the value makes sense for someone building more than a single shelf. Basic plastic templates cost less and can handle occasional projects, but this design provides a much more solid clamping system, metal drill guides, two pin sizes, and easier repeatability. I got this for my husband to help with making adjustable shelving in our closet. He had no idea what it was at first, but once he read what it did he was really excited to try it out. He said it made lining up and drilling all of the shelf pin holes so much easier and turned it into a much quicker process than doing everything by hand or trying to format everything properly on our CNC machine (which he said was a huge pain because the boards were too big for our machine anyway). So far, he says the tool seems to be pretty accurate, and he really likes how much easier it is to use with the clamping function.It feels very substantial and well-made, not like a flimsy tool that’s going to get tossed after one project. I also really like that it comes with a nice storage case so all of the pieces stay together when he’s not using it. This was definitely one of those tools he didn’t know he needed until he actually used it. It would have made a really great Christmas gift for him too, since he’s really into DIY-ing things, but I also was excited to give this to me (maybe in part because I really want my closet shelving finished at some point soon!)

This is a really nice jig for cabinet making and a great addition to the toolbox if you do any cabinetry or woodworking. It makes drilling consistent shelf pin holes much easier, and the results are far more precise than trying to measure and mark every hole individually.I also really like the clamping function. It helps keep the jig in place while drilling, which makes the process faster and less frustrating.Another nice feature is that the same jig makes setting up hinge spacing much easier. Having a repeatable layout tool takes a lot of the guesswork out of getting everything lined up evenly.The all-metal construction feels solid, and having both 1/4” and 5mm drill bits included is convenient.Overall, a very useful jig that makes cabinet construction faster, easier, and more consistent. Definitely one of those tools that makes you wonder why you didn’t buy one sooner. it is really a great value for a great tool.

Haven't had a chance to run this yet, but the package overall is nicely done. Sturdy box that holds all components nicely. The two main bars are machined aluminum anodized to tell them apart from a distance. The drill guides seem tough enough to last a while.

This is very well made.When you open the box, you realize what you paid for will be lasting you a lifetime. This this is supper adjustable and a great price.The case is perfect for the jig. This is on par with many of the better jigs I have made or bought, like kreg.If you have used a jig like this before, you will have no surprises. If you have not, its a good idea to watch a few videos. There are several shelf jigs like this on the market and they are somewhat similar. After a few videos and trial boards, you are going to find this very easy to use.Although not required, i would add two things to this when using:- a sharp mechanical pencil- a clamp (maybe)the clamp is may be unneeded as the guides kind of act like a clamp.The pencil is just to get accurate marks. Make sure you adjust the drill collar for your depth of cut or you will blow through the back of your board,

I’ve only had this jig for a short time, but my first impressions are very positive. The all-metal construction feels solid, the drill bits appear to be high quality, and everything fits together well. It feels like a well-made tool rather than a cheap clone.Before purchasing, I contacted customer service with a few questions. They responded quickly, answered everything thoroughly, and gave me confidence that they’ll stand behind their product if I ever need support.I haven’t had enough time to evaluate long-term durability or accuracy over hundreds of holes, so I’ll update this review after I’ve used it more. Based on my experience so far, though, I’d say it’s worth taking the chance if you’re considering it.
