Garbage Disposal Strainer and Stopper

Good looking garbage disposal flange and stink stopper - appearance and materials are premium. Flange is SUS304 stainless steel: SUS304 is the Japanese industrial standard for 304 stainless steel, same material known as 18/8 stainless steel in the United States (8% chromium and 8% nickel). Very strong, rust resistant metal that looks like shiny polished chrome. I like the sturdy stopper with a large knob handle and thick rubber gasket edge to stop water from draining out of the sink. The flange and stopper are designed to fit 3.5" sink drain openings, would not fit my 3.5" sink opening. The bottom of the flange has a rounded curved edge that prevented the flange from sitting over my InSinkErator garbage disposal.opening. I tried the stopper without the flange in my sink and it would not hold water in my sink. The flange is 1.5" in depth, center is 3.4" in diameter and outside top edge to edge diameter is 4.5". Despite measuring my opening as 3.5", I was unable to install it in my sink - too wide to seat in opening. Additional clarification concerning fit and installation needed. Modern streamlined look, just too large to fit my sink opening.

I ordered and received this disposal flange and stopper. The pair are made of stainless steel which has a nice polished finish and are free of any surface imperfections. The stopper has a soft rubber seal which seems to retain water quite well. One negative was that there isn't much of an edge on the smooth stopper so it was a bit hard to grip and pull out to drain the sink. Get this if you have good digital strength.
