"They don't make 'em like they used to."Actually, this item will work on many doors. The profile is a bit different but still effective. I was in the residential installation business, and it was always good to have various weather-stripping profiles on hand. Good pricing for a good amount and when you are just trying to keep the air and bugs out it's nice to have what you need on hand.Is it the same stuff as the worn-out material that came off a 30-year-old door? Probably not but it could do the job for you. Check the return policy and then check it out for your project.

I put this on my front door to replace the old one. I ordered this one because it was the closest match to what I have now. Installation was straight forward and simple. Remove the old, install the new. No glue, no caulk, just slip the thin plastic end into the thin gap in your doorframe and make your way around to the other side. It has instructions that suggest how to do the corners and that worked out pretty well. I was going to do the 45 degree angle cut method but it shows to do the but joint method. It also includes some corner tabs that you stick into the corners behind the insulation. The purpose these serve is to lift the corners a bit to form a good seal. In the end it all forms a thick cushiony seal top to bottom. Just make sure you close your door all the way when your done. There might be a bit of resistance closing it shut. It's thick.

I had a door that the weatherstripping on was starting to get less flexible and didn't fully seal against the door when closed anymore, you could see light in a few spots around the door, if there is light there is air moving through, thats a loss of heat in the winter, and a loss of A/C cooling in the summer. This stuff was super easy to install, pushed right into the slot for it after pulling out the old stuff, makes a good seal to the door, easy to cut to length, even includes the little corner pads that you see on most door jambs. There is enough here for fixing multiple doors, so its a good kit to refresh your entry doors and get them all done!Great price! For $20 you get 40ft of this stuff, the local home improvement stores sell this stuff as 8ft lengths that cost about $12 each, so you are getting a lot of value for the money buying this 40ft roll! A lot cheaper to get a bunch of doors freshened up with new seals.
