Great upgrade from the previous latch setup I had! This self-locking gate latch feels much more solid and heavy-duty than my old one. Installation was straightforward, and once installed, the gate closes and latches securely without having to manually mess with the latch every time.The hardware feels sturdy and well made, and I like the added convenience of the self-locking design. It gives the gate a cleaner look while also making it easier to use. Overall, I’m very happy with the upgrade and would definitely recommend it if you’re replacing an older or less reliable gate latch.

The latch itself is as solid as I could expect. Its nothing crazy but the metal is about as thick as the better products you will find at your local hardware store. They certainly did not cut any corners there. The finish work on it had good attention to detail. There were no sharp edges or tooling defects that I could see. Even the finish on the latch itself had no dings or chips of any sort.I particularly liked that the latch itself was longer than the usual latch. I figure you can always cut one shorter if desired but I have never encountered a situation where I had to. However, I have come across situations where the latch does not reach on an old gate and I had to rig something up or situations where it barely reaches.The only real criticism I have is the screws. They are solid and perfectly matched the latch, but they are not stainless. What this means is if you have a stain grade fence a few years down the road you are going to have little weep lines on your fence from the screws reacting to the elements and rain pulling it into your wood. Really minor gripe and you can pick up some screws for a few bucks but it is of note.The installation was about as easy as I could expect. There was nothing special about it good or bad. Every angle was perfect and sat flush allowing me to recess it slightly into the wood giving it that slight seamless look that feels great. I do not think I could find as good a product at my local hardware stores for the same price point.
