12 Inch Circular Saw Guide

I have some plywood that needed to be cut into custom size blocks, and the TMFNX 12 Inch Circular Saw Guide looked like it would do the trick. In concept, it appears that it will work fine. However, the thumbscrews provided with the guide would not fit my Skill brand saw. They were all too big, and I could not find a screw in my spares that would fit. I played with it a bit to get an idea how it would work, and if I can find a screw to fit, it should work ok. I have ¾ inch plywood, and it appeared to work fine with that thickness. Note that about an 8-inch-wide cut is all I could get with the 12 in bar (4 inches are used up by the width of the saw). The bar is a bit thin, so I was careful when placing the saw down (as to not bend the bar).

I do a lot of my own projects but cutting a perfectly straight line with a circular saw isn't always my strong suit, so I figured this was worth trying. Once I got it adjusted to the width I wanted it did a good job keeping the saw where it needed to be instead of me trying to follow a pencil line the whole way. The roller moves along the edge smoothly and the adjustments are pretty simple once you've played with it a little. I've mostly used it for ripping down boards and it has definitely made my cuts straighter and more consistent.

I got this for my husband to use with his circular saw because I wanted him to have something that helps keep his cuts controlled and straight. He said the setup was a snap and it was very easy to figure out. Once it was attached, he liked how simple it was to adjust for the cut he needed. The guide feels solid and well made, not flimsy. He also likes the roller design because it moves smoothly along the edge of the board. Anything that makes using a circular saw a little easier and gives him better control is a win in my book. He has been very happy with it so far. Definitely a useful tool to have around for his woodworking projects.

This guide caught my eye as being the grandaddy of circular saw guides. It is simple but is an improvement over the standard fixed guide that comes with most circular saws.I tried it on my old Craftsman saw and was pleased to find that it perfectly fit through the old saw's guide slots and was easily secured with the existing wing bolt. This guide is longer than most which means I can make wider cuts than usual.What makes this guide different are the ball bearings that will ride along the opposite edge from the saw blade making a perfectly straight cut without the need to follow a pencil line. This will definitely have a home in my toolbox.

I am in the construction industry and use a circular saw all the time and the rigid guides you typically see or get do not yeaild the best cuts where you need a smooth percsion cut so I would have to get the table saw off the truck which is a pain to set up, clean up and take down, but hey you do what you have to to keep the customer happy. Then one day while searching for some saw blades, I saw this guide with rollers and decided, as low as the cost was, that I would give it a shot. So very happy I did, this guide works phenomenal. It has four rollers that go on the side to keep the saw going forward without any hiccups, and they also put a roller on the top side to make it run even smoother, and it just works so well I hardly ever use the table saw anymore. The guide is built like a tank and has stood up to the rigors of multiple job sites with no issues whatsoever. I am sure, as well as it is made and how it has performed so far, that it will last for years. It fits perfectly on my old Craftsman circular saw as well as a Milwaukee one that one of my co-workers has, again, no issues- easy as pie. Everything you need is in the package to hook it to your saw right out of the box. So if you need a guide for your circular saw, stop looking at the others this is the one you want. It works perfectly, is very inexpensive, and is a quality product. Stop searching, buy it, use it, and make great cuts from now on.

This circular saw guide was quick and easy to set up, and it made cutting straight lines much easier than trying to freehand them. Once adjusted, it stayed in place well and helped improve the accuracy of my cuts.One thing I discovered is that it works best on material that's at least 1/2 inch thick. I tried using it on a piece of 1/4-inch plywood, and it didn't work well because the material was too thin for the roller guides to grip properly. If you're primarily cutting thicker lumber or plywood, this shouldn't be an issue.The guide itself feels well made, and the adjustable fence and positioning guides are straightforward to use. It's a nice accessory for DIY projects and general woodworking when you want more consistent, straight cuts.Overall, I'm happy with it, but I do think it's important to know its limitations.
