This floor lamp took a little more time than some of the smaller lighting I have assembled lately, but the assembly itself was easy and the instructions were very clear.Once together, it has a beautiful vintage appearance. The decorative stem has plenty of character, while the neutral fabric shade brings in a farmhouse element that works nicely with the rustic brown finish. The paintwork is well done and gives the completed lamp a cohesive, finished look.One of my favorite features is the adjustable swing arm. When reading, I can swing the light closer to where I need it, then move it back toward the pole when finished for a more uniform traditional floor-lamp appearance.The dimmer is built directly into the side of the pole and is extremely easy to use. Turn the knob to switch the lamp on, then continue turning to gradually increase the brightness. I like being able to go from softer mood lighting to brighter task lighting without changing bulbs or using a separate control.A compatible LED bulb is included, which is another nice touch and means the lamp can be used immediately after assembly. The base has a very heavy weight, and the size is tall.Beautiful shade, useful swing-arm design, smooth dimming, and a convincing vintage-rustic appearance. This one was worth the assembly time.

We have needed a floor lamp for my husband's side of the bed since he recently decided he wanted as little as possible on his end table (when you get a certain age, clutter becomes an issue) and got rid of the lamp that was on it. I ordered this floor lamp and it is so perfect for him. The lighting is adjustable and it suits his need for less clutter on his end table while providing the much-needed light. The style blends with our bedroom furniture and I was surprised it would blend this well since it is described in the product description as retro, art deco, rustic and generally a mid-century modern farmhouse style. I thought somewhere it mentioned also that is a sort of "medieval" style and if you look at the upper lamp post section (see my pic), it reminds me of a medieval "mace" flanged club used in medieval fighting. It has such intricate details and I just love the beauty of this part of the floor lamp. I did not receive assembly instructions with my order and for someone like me that can be a catastrophe but I had no problem at all with its assembly. It comes with four shaft pole pieces to screw together and that includes the lightbulb section, the very heavy base, the linen lamp shade, two lamp shade frames, and a lightbulb. I screwed the four shafts together and the electrical cord at the bottom shaft needed to be manually pulled somewhat taut to keep the cord running straight up the shafts (I tried to show that in the video). Once all four shafts were screwed in I screwed it in the base. Then I assembled the lampshade which is pretty intuitive and inserted the included light bulb and that was it! It looks great, works great and we are happy to have this floor lamp.

With it's swing out arm this lamp has that retro look about it, but it's all about modern function with its dimmable LED bulb (included). The swing out arm is quite useful as it allows you to "open"the arm over something you want lighted.When unpacking be sure you don't inadvertantly throw the lamp shade away! It comes as a flat cover you clip onto the two rings. I was a little skeptical on how well it would work, but it turns out it works perfectly! You'll find it easier to assemble with two people, however I'm sure it can be done alone provided you wrap it slowly. Attach both support circles at the same time!
