But thanks to the mounting holes, you can bolt it firmly to a wall or shelf, and then no one can just walk off with it, despite its light weight. That’s a big plus for security. The electronic lock works reliably, the code is set in a couple of minutes, and there are ready and low-battery indicators. The door opens smoothly, and there’s plenty of room inside for documents, electronics, and small valuables.Great value for the money. I purchased this Locksworth brand safe (though it’s not labeled Locksworth) to keep some valuables under lock and key. It was a perfect choice. First, it arrived with excellent packaging. There were a couple of holes in the box, but the internal styrofoam held it in place, so there wasn’t a scratch on it. It also came with a nice bag for the keys so they don’t scratch the safe in transit.It’s made of strong alloy steel and has no seams to pry open. It also has an anti-pry door. I can’t test its ability to withstand a hammer drill, but it’s really sturdy with large lock bolts. Unless bolted down using the included expansion bolts, a thief could take it from my home, and I’m sure they'd find a way to open it. But in the house it’s nice and secure.The safe is heavy and roomy, with a removable shelf if you need to store something tall. The bottom is covered in felt so it won’t scratch valuable items. It’s fire-resistant, but not fireproof, so maybe not the best place to store really important papers.It came with clear instructions and it’s simple to program your chosen code. It also has an alarm and a lockout if someone tries incorrect combinations. It does use batteries, but they’re not included. You’ll need 4 AAs. There is a low battery light on the front, but if you forget the code or the batteries die, it comes with two keys that you should store elsewhere. The only change I made to it was adding some stick-on feet.Overall a great safe at a good price. Check out my photos and video!
