As you can tell from the pictures, I’ve been tough on this thing. When I got it, I didn’t think I’d like that sweeping edge how it curves back. Seemed too extreme. After using it for a while it’s actually not much different than my other drop points (bench made and Kizer). It’s a good blade that has held its edge very well.I’m very skinned wire with it, cut out some small branches and other everyday stuff. The handle is great. It’s got to be an aluminum or something similar but very nice. Hasn’t marred or anything and it’s been thrown around everywhere.I do not like the thumbscrew button location. Where they are is actually fine (and where they should be) but with the ergonomics of the handle- it’s almost impossible to to one hand open this thing.Other than that, this is right up there with some of the higher end Civivi stuff I’ve had. No where near Benchmade quality, but you can but 6-7 of these for the cost of one Benchmade 🤷🏻.

The knife feels good in the hand and retains an edge well, but grip wear may be a concern over time

[Color: grey]
The ZMRYDS FD1004 folding pocketknife is a solid little utility blade with a surprisingly sturdy feel for its size. The DC53 steel holds an edge well and is easy to sharpen, the action is smooth, and the aluminum handle gives it a lightweight but confident grip. The deep carry clip keeps it tucked away securely without being bulky, making it a convenient everyday tool. The handle is comfortable, and the overall design makes it easy to use for quick cutting tasks around camping gear, the RV, gardening, or general daily carry. I am concerned that the slight texture on the aluminum handle may wear smooth over time and reduce grip. Overall, it’s a straightforward, reliable pocketknife that feels well-built and practical - a great small utility blade and a nice gift option as well.

Decent knife but nothing really very specialDecent knife but nothing really very special

I picked up this knife to carry in my van when I'm doing my twice-yearly trips across the US. It's a good looking, well balanced knife that comes in an impressive package. The packaging consists of a box, case and pouch, all of which are very fancy, but in my opinion are a waste of money. Whenever I see a product that has this much posh and ceremony in the packaging alone I'm immediately suspicious that they're trying to overcompensate for an inferior product.Fortunately, that's not really the case with this knife. As I mentioned above, it is very well balanced and good looking but it's also very sharp and has a smooth, effortless opening and closing mechanism. It has a nice long clip too, which makes it handy to carry in your pocket so you always have it ready to grab quickly, rather than having to dig through your pocket to find it.It is a little on the light side as I normally like a bit more weight in a knife. The lighter weight could be handy if it's in your pocket but since I'll be keeping it in my van, not my pocket, I'd prefer it to feel a little more substantial. My final comment is in regards to the black finish. I do not like my knife blades to be coated or colored in any way. I don't even own a mechanical sharpener, preferring to always use a whetstone, and after a few sharpenings the color line by the edge begins to look rough and ragged. Plus, if the blade gets scratched, I can polish it out; but with this coated blade, that's not possible. This is a decent knife, but not a great one, and since I see no value in all the fancy presentation, I can't see that the price point is warranted.

Reliable Everyday Pocket Knife for General Tasks

[Color: grey]
I've been carrying this pocket knife for a few weeks and have found it to be a useful tool for everyday cutting jobs around the house, garage, and outdoors. The blade arrived sharp and has stayed in good condition through regular use opening packages, trimming materials, and handling light-duty tasks. The handle feels secure in the hand, and the overall weight strikes a nice balance between being sturdy and easy to carry. The pocket clip keeps it accessible without taking up much space. The opening action was smooth on my unit, although it became even better after a brief break-in period. One minor drawback is that the handle can feel slightly slippery if your hands are wet or greasy, and some users may prefer a larger grip for extended use. Overall, it offers solid value, dependable performance, and a comfortable design for anyone looking for a practical everyday carry knife.

Great knife, cheap packagingGreat knife, cheap packaging

[Color: grey, Color: grey]
This folding knife surprised me in a good way. The quality of the knife itself is outstanding, especially for something this light. It feels solid in the hand without feeling heavy in the pocket, which is exactly what I want from a small everyday carry knife. The blade came correctly sharpened right out of the box. I did not have to touch it up before using it, and it was ready for normal cutting tasks right away. For basic utility use, camping, yard work, and general around-the-house stuff, it feels more than capable. The aluminum handle is also better than I expected. It has a clean, simple feel to it, and the knife does not feel bulky. The pocket clip is useful and keeps it easy to carry without feeling like a brick in your pocket. My only complaint is the presentation packaging. Honestly, they should save money and skip the cheap case or improve it, because it kind of works against the product. When I first opened it, the case made me think the knife was going to be low quality. But once I actually handled the knife, it was the complete opposite. The knife itself feels much nicer than the packaging suggests. It is one of those cases where the product is better than the first impression.Overall, I am very happy with it. Great build quality, super light, sharp out of the box, and a good value if you need a practical folding knife. Just do not judge it by the cheap presentation packing.

Is this ZMRYDS FD1004 Folding Pocket Knife any good?

PROSHigh-Performance DC53 Steel Blade: Features a 3.14-inch blade made from DC53 tool steel, providing exceptional toughness, strong edge retention, and resistance to wear during daily cutting tasks.Razor-Sharp Factory Edge: Out-of-the-box sharpness allows it to effortlessly tackle general daily utility work, camping tasks, package opening, and outdoor chores right away.Lightweight Aluminum Handle: Built with a sleek, durable aluminum body that maintains structural integrity while keeping the knife comfortable to grip and lightweight in the pocket.Discreet Deep-Carry Clip: The integrated deep-carry pocket clip allows the knife to ride low and securely in pockets or gear bags for subtle everyday carry.CONSCorrosion Care Required: While DC53 steel offers outstanding toughness and edge retention, it is a semi-stainless steel that requires light cleaning and oiling to prevent corrosion or staining in humid conditions.Smooth Aluminum Texture: The polished aluminum handle provides a clean look but may feel less textured or grippy when wet compared to materials like textured G10 or rubberized overlays.VERDICT: The ZMRYDS FD1004 Folding Pocket Knife is a tough, exceptionally sharp utility tool that combines premium DC53 blade steel with a clean aluminum handle construction. While its semi-stainless steel benefits from simple routine maintenance and the smooth handle scales favor EDC convenience over wet-grip texture, its impressive factory sharpness and deep-carry design make it a great choice for camping, everyday tasks, and outdoor use.

The Sharp Folding Knife That Everyone Needs

[Color: grey]
This is a Folding Pocket Knife from ZMRYDS. It comes in an elegant silver box suitable for gift giving. Inside, is a classy introduction to the company written in gold color. It is just a little thing, but to me, it added to the knife presentation.Inside is the knife along with a black zippered case to carry it in, plus a cloth to wipe it down after use. The knife is black with a steel blade almost 3.25 inches long. The handle is about 4.5 inches long. The handle is aluminum and is extremely sturdy and ergonomically designed. It fit well in both my medium hands and a son's extra large hand. The blade is a matching dark gray and is super sharp. The handle has a large clip to hang on belts, if needed. I found it very easy to open and close the blade. This knife looks bare bones but every piece seems to have a lot of thought behind it. The workmanship is great. The case fits the closed knife beautifully. Inside is a thick velour lining with a pocket to hold the knife and anything else small you might need. It has a heavy nylon (?) outside with a clip to attach it to your belt. When I opened this knife there was some oil on it that I had to wipe off. That didn't bother me because I would be more concerned if it Didn't have any oil.I carry a multi - tool in my purse all the time. However, I really dislike carrying purses, so I forget it most times. That is always when I need a knife. I ordered this because now I can carry it with me in my pocket all the time. No more running in the house to get a sharp knife to open a package of soil or mulch. There is always something that requires a knife around the house. This knife is perfect for me. Already I have used it a number of times, and it just came today. I find the price to be really a good value for this quality knife, but more importantly, it is just what I needed.

Probably worth the cost, functional designProbably worth the cost, functional design

[Color: grey, Color: grey]
I like the style of this knife and have a couple like it by a famous costly brand name. The great functions of this knife consist of the long clip that allows you to carry it inside your pocket and have it ready quickly. That is so convenient for me because the knife does not get sideways in pants pockets and seems to just be convenient and something I’m more likely to have with me because of the clip. It also doesn’t fall out when I sit down or ride in the car. The blade on this knife is locking. Because of the shape, size and the locking mechanism, I can open it and close it with one hand. So together with a clip, the knife can pulled out quickly and swing it open and then swing it closed while holding the lock mechanism. This works well on this knife while it’s still new.The blade is well centered in the handle. This is not the same as an expensive name brand knife with exotic components and extra hard materials, but it doesn’t seem particularly cheap either. The knife is not overly heavy either. It would be an easy knife to carry clipped in a pocket regularly without feeling burdensome or constantly noticed. It also has:A mysterious brand name: ZMRYDSA model number that sounds important: FD1004Aluminum handle, dramatic styling, and a very low priceTypically, when I look for a knife like this, I try to avoid painted blades, no matter what they call it. I always prefer the raw metal blade because in my experience the coating always scratches, gets damaged and it’s hard to sharpen without leaving marks. This particularly knife has a black painted or coated blade. I used it to cut up some boxes. The effects were minimal but the deterioration has begun. But for me, that’s the only thing that I don’t prefer about the knife. This knife comes with a microfiber cleaning cloth, which is understandable. It also comes with a zippered pouch that is very soft on the inside and nicer than it has to be. The pouch could be sold by itself and it’s bigger than the knife. It’s neat and all, but I don’t need it. I plan to carry this knife in my pocket and not have to go through the trouble of opening some pouch to get it out. And how much protection does a knife of this cost deserve? That’s just my thought. So if you have a $30 budget to spend on a one hand operable knife, that is convenient to carry, this might work well for you. I don’t know what could go wrong. The blade break at the wrong time? The locking mechanism fail? I have not experienced things like that with other knives. But this one arrived sharp and looks pretty nice. I feel like it is an acceptable choice and should serve some reasonable amount of time.
