I used these for a garden gate. The gate I had to build custom and I needed strong hinges that would support it and wouldn't be a pain to operate. These are strong enough not to sag under the weight of the gate. I was able to distribute the load a little better across the beams due to the design. Bearings make it easy to swing open and shut. They are heavy, but that's a good thing here. I need them to stand up to the elements. If anything I may need to replace the post it's mounted to. It will surely fail before the hinges do.

These hinges are very good and strong! I think that each hinge has a rating of 400 lbs . Just be aware that the hinge are too close from the post section to the Door hinge side, the side door post may hit the post when opening the gate completely

I would give this hinge 5 stars for the quality, looks, function and strength. However, there's a flaw in the design that makes them more challenging to install. First, the hardware that comes with the hinges are too small. You don't put a 3/8" bolt through a 1/2" hole. So, I had to go to Lowes and purchase all new hardware. 24 lag bolts to be exact($75). 2nd problem. The vertical through bolt pin is in the way of the top and bottom bolt, which means you have to remove the bolt using a 19 & 18mm, just to get the mounting bolts in. Not to mention, because the shank on the lag bolts are a bit larger, I had to use a stepper bit to drill out all 24 holes and then paint the exposed metal. All the designer had to do was either make the holes smaller (for GRK screws) or make the buttleaf longer. It was a pain in the butt but it looks good and they are beefy and smooth and quiet.
