If you have a metal roof with exposed fasteners, this is a great way to help seal those screws to prevent future water leaking concerns. These caps don't come with any adhesive so you will need to supply your own, but silicone is readily available from your local hardware store.These caps will probably only be usable on R-panel roofing if the screws are in the middle of the flat portions. If the screws happen to be on the peaks or too close to the edges of the valleys, then the caps will unfortunately not be able to sit flat enough to make a good seal. These caps also seem to be slightly larger than they need to be--they could easily get the job done with a slightly smaller radius and height to the dome.Overall, a good way to provide extra protection for your metal roof against rain or water intrusion, and this provides a slightly nicer appearance than just a giant glob of silicone on each screwhead.

This little stack of galvanized caps is really easy to use. Just fill it with silicone and press in place. After the first few I decided to add the step of decreasing the inside with a spray of carburetor cleaner just to make sure that they were absolutely clean on the inside so the silicone would stick as well as possible. The edges are a bit sharp but that doesn't matter as they will be down against the roof surface once they are in place and they are not sharp enough to hurt you when you install them. These work well and will protect all kinds of protrusions on metal roofs.

We had a metal roof put on a pergola for our back deck in our rainy environment. The process of having it done was a bit of an ordeal, since the contractors hadn't done it before and were learning as they went. As such they removed and replaced some of the screws more than one time.In some cases the screw hole was enlarged. Now we have occasional leaks. It isn't always consistent from where. I'd thought about getting screws with larger washers, but I prefer to do something that I know will keep a screw site from leaking at the screw head and washer.These are perfect for that. They are perfectly circular and have a recessed area inside to hold a volume of caulk or sealant. Our roof is red with red screws, but I couldn't find anything like this in red. So I ordered a can of red spray paint to match the roof.Now I just need to mark the leaking locations the next time we get heavy rain. And I also need to get some red sealant because some will seep past the edge when it gets squished down.
