I have been installing quite a few doorknobs around my house. I am for aesthetic purposes switching them out on our new construction from silver to black. I am down to the last three doorknobs in the house and have tried many different designs. This door know is a little bit of a pain to install because the step that you need to complete isn't entirely intuitive. I got frustrated with installation because i could not get the screws to line up with the holes because the knobs get in the way. I had my husband step in while i handled other tasks that need completion. On this particular model fortunately you can remove the knob by releasing an automotive snap ring that holds the knob in place. He use snap ring pliers to release the knob. I certainly wouldn't have thought to do that, but he is definitely more comfortable working with mechanical things like this. It overall, didn't take him much time to get the project done. I am always impressed. The overall look function and quality of the knob is otherwise great, and i have no other complaints.

These door knobs do the job and were easy to install. They work smoothly for a hallway or kitchen door, and I like the simple black finish, which gives the door a clean, modern look. The biggest downside is the build quality. They feel lighter and cheaper than I expected, and they don't have the solid feel of higher quality door hardware.Even so, they function as they should and look good once installed. If you're looking for an affordable option and don't mind the lighter construction, they'll get the job done.

I am a huge fan of this brand.About one year ago I got my first NCSEN doorknob as a test.I wanted to see how it rated against the usual home improvement store brands.Well, I am very happy to report that these doorknobs are far superior AND at a much BETTER PRICE!Back then, I was in the middle of a complete home renovation.I ended up getting all NCSEN doorknobs for the retrofit. I have NOT regretted that decision one bit.Especially knowing that I equipped my entire home with new high-quality doorknobs at the price of just a few IF I'd purchased the usual big box stores brands. The build quality on these is especially high. I have installed a LOT of doorknobs in my time. Mostly those 'familiar' brands. So, I was well aware of the weaknesses and shortcomings of those brands. With NCSEN, I will say 'the bar has been raised'. There is NO comparison to the heft, the feel, the quality, the design or the construction of these compared to those others.I was and still am, pleasantly surprised.Made of stainless steel, these knobs will last a lifetime. The matte black finish is durable. I have zero scratches on any of the previously installed knobs. The modern rectangle design is eye catching and up to date. The smooth knob is too. None of that cheap look here. Very nice.NO installation issues. Especially since you can install the lockset at the usual 2 3/8" backset, or the less common 2 3/4" backset. Fits on most doors, 1 3/8" to 1 3/4" thick.Simple to install, using just a Phillips screwdriver in most cases.I got this as a hall or 'passage' knob. Meaning, there is no ability to lock it. Perfect for the pantry door with a center glass that I will be installing in my home. I am custom building the door and the center stained-glass feature for this door. This beautiful matte black knob looks absolutely incredible on this door and will complete the look I am after.

At first I was convinced this was going to feel cheap. The knob is surprisingly lightweight, so my expectations dropped as soon as I picked it up. After installing it, though, I ended up pleasantly surprised.Installation was straightforward and everything fit my existing door without any modifications. I didn’t need to adjust the latch, so I can’t comment on that feature, but it installed easily using the standard hardware. The finish also held up well during installation. Despite using a screwdriver throughout the process, I didn’t notice any scratches or damage to the brushed finish. One thing that initially concerned me was that the interior knob doesn’t remove with a small set screw like many other doorknobs. It turns out I actually prefer this design. Installing it was simply a matter of starting the mounting screws with my fingers through the access holes until they engaged, then tightening them with a screwdriver. Once tightened, everything pulled together securely, and I suspect this design may be less prone to developing the wobble that removable knobs sometimes get over time.Although the listing describes it as “heavy duty,” I wouldn’t personally use that term because the knob itself is very lightweight. However, once installed it feels solid, operates smoothly, and the latch engages cleanly. For an inexpensive interior knob, the overall quality exceeded my expectations. The brushed gold finish looks attractive, and I appreciate that the included strike plate matches the knob instead of using a different finish. The package also includes a plastic latch insert for the door frame. I wasn’t able to use it because my existing mortise was round rather than rectangular, but it appears to be a thoughtful addition for new installations or doors that are cut to accept it.One thing to be aware of is that the rectangular backplates are smaller than many traditional round rosettes. If you’re replacing an older knob, they may not completely cover paint lines or wear marks left by the previous hardware. I plan on repainting my door, so this wasn’t an issue for me, but it’s something worth considering before purchasing.Overall, I was pleasantly surprised. While I wouldn’t classify it as a heavy-duty knob, it installed easily, operates smoothly, looks much nicer than its price would suggest, and offers excellent value for an interior door.

This knob is very classy and sleek. The finish is a beautiful matte color and it made completely of metal. It is heavy duty. The directions included will make it easy for someone like me who hasn’t ever done an installation before. All you need is a screwdriver and you’re ready to install. It is also packed very well where none of the finished pieces can rub and scratch the other. The quality is amazing and the value for the price you pay is very reasonable. I am going to use it on my coat closet to update from 90s brass which was here when I moved in.
