Cordless Brushless Metal Shears

Note that this is offered as a Tool Only, I.e. no battery is included which is needed in order to actually use this tool. But if you typically use Milwaukee tools and therefore have one or more 20V MAX batteries (or 3rd party equivalents), then this is becomes a pretty convenient tool at making quick cuts in a variety of materials without your grip taking a toll like it would with a pair of tin snips, I’ll tell you what. Snipping by hand has always been tiring and it goes so slowly. With this tool, simply click the button to the leftmost position and let the tool do the work for you. It has a variable trigger so you can go full speed when you need to but can slow the cut down when approaching turns. I actually made a 90 degree turn but I don’t think I did it the way you’re supposed to. What I ended up doing was clicking the mode button to the right, which the product page states is “Reverse Mode”. What it seemed like to me was more like a single cut mode where it would stop after a snip or two. This allowed me to navigate the round turn in the metal sheet. Had I had it in the normal Forward Mode, I feel like I would’ve lost some control as I tried to follow the circular path. The instruction manual is a bit sparse as far as details on how to use the Forward and Reverse Mode, as well as how the rotating head is supposed to help you cut around curves. I ended up leaving the head in its default position and was able to make the turn in the metal as I cut.There’s a nice LED bulb that lights up when you depress the trigger. There’s also a status panel located towards the base, but it’s really hard to read because it’s so small, and its location is below your trigger hand so you really can’t see what’s lit up while you’re actually using the tool. They also throw in a pair of white cotton gloves but I’m not sure of their utility because they definitely will not protect your fingers from the cutting blade, nor will they really protect from any sharp pointy metal edges that may have developed during the cutting process. Lastly, even though no battery is included, HYRAVLSY does include a storage case, which is convenient. The case can actually store a couple of batteries in it as well. The two red latches, however, are made of a very soft plastic and feel somewhat cheap. I can see that these might break at some point in the future unless you are very careful when flipping them open an closed.

Used this while installing metal roofing panels. The double-cut design leaves very little distortion, so I don't spend time straightening the metal afterward. It's lightweight, balanced, and the LED light actually helps when working inside darker buildings.

I own several DeWalt 20V battery so buying the tool-only version made perfect sense. Battery fit perfectly and runtime has been excellent. Way faster than using manual snips and much cleaner than a cutoff wheel. Makes fabrication jobs much easier.

This tool has been an absolute game-changer. It cuts 26-18 gauge sheet metal cleanly with almost zero burrs, and my hands aren't sore at the end of the day anymore. The rotating head makes awkward or tight cuts so much easier. It's definitely a worthy addition to my DeWalt setup.

Having used several other metal shears in the past, I can say this one performs way better than expected for the price. The 360° rotating head is easily my favorite feature—it saves me from constantly having to adjust my grip. Best of all, it works flawlessly with my Milwaukee batteries, making it a no-brainer addition if you already own their tools. If you cut sheet metal on a regular basis, this is a solid, budget-friendly buy for both DIYers and pros.

I am constantly tinkering on my property making, repairing and customizing “stuff”. Recently, I put a corrugated metal roof on an old gazebo and had to fabricate a ridge cap. I used sheet metal that was 28 gauge app (0.40mm). The cordless brushless metal shears by Hyravsly would be put to the test to cut the pieces of corrugated to size.The shears come in a hard plastic case that is nice for storing on the shelf along with other infrequently used tools. Also included was a hex wrench for rotating the head and a pair of gloves that I believe are simple cotton that would not offer protection against cuts.Picking up the cutter to stick in a DeWalt type battery, it felt comfortable and solid as any of the brand name battery operated tools. The battery clicked and locked securely into position and was removed with the same ease. The first downside of the product was there were no real operating instructions. A small pamphlet with a some of the safety precautions in a few languages was all that was included.I had some small pieces of aluminum and stainless steel sheet metal in the shop and decided to test it out on them. The shears breezed straight through the 0.2 mm aluminum sheet like a hot knife through butter. The 0.63 mm piece of stainless cut with a bit more difficulty but made a nice straight even line. The difficulty comes with the metal has to separate up and down over the cutting edge in order to move forward. The stainless was pretty stiff, and I had to help it along with my hand. The add claims to a forward and reverse mode to avoid jams. I am not sure how that worked. The reverse button just reduced the top speed.The advertisement states that these shears can cut clean curved lines, and I was unable to duplicate that in my shop. Making a curved cut on the aluminum required some forcing and the cut had a sharp burr that would have to be removed. It was not possible on the stainless to cut an inside curve. I was able to make an outside cut by clipping off small pieces. However, the final cut was not clean and also had to be deburred.I had no reason to rotate the head for those tight spaces so I can’t comment on that feature, other than it becomes harder to push the shears through thicker metal if not using straight on force.I am only giving this product three stars, because I couldn’t cut curves as described, and I doubt that it will work on materials up to 2 to 3mm thick. I don’t work with metal that thick and can’t verify at this time.The cordless shears by Hyravsly are a good product if you want to cut straight lines on material below 1 mm thick.It was helpful for my roof ridge project, giving a long straight even cuts.

I picked up these electric metal shears to speed up some sheet metal work, and they honestly get the job done without any fuss. They are sold as a bare tool, meaning no battery is included in the box, but my standard Milwaukee M18 batteries clicked right into place perfectly without any weird fitment issues or slop. Out of the box, the tool itself feels solid, with a decent amount of heft and a build quality that feels like it can take some regular garage use.​When it comes to actual cutting, it’s a massive time saver. If you are used to struggling with manual tin snips, this is a night and day difference. It powered right through the sheet metal I was working on and didn't bog down or struggle. What really stood out to me was the quality of the cut, it leaves a remarkably clean line and a good, straight edge without chewing up the material.​Overall, it’s a highly practical tool. It has plenty of power, operates smoothly, and does exactly what it claims to do. If you already have Milwaukee batteries sitting on your charger, this is a solid, straightforward addition to your setup that will save your hands a lot of fatigue.
