Ladies and people with smaller heads beware:I have a small head, and appropriate hardhat fit is always a challenge for me.This hardhat is capable of being adjusted down on the back dial fine on the horizontal circumference of my head but I’m not able to get a safe fit on the chin strap.My ears are somewhat low set, so adjusting the V of the straps shorter is not possible.At the shortest length adjustment on the chin strap, I can still fit my whole meaty little hand between the strap and my chin, which is not OSHA compliant.My vertical head circumference is 22 1/2” for reference (as in measured from the forward top of my head down and around under my chin)The brim feels a little thin and flimsy to me.Not a fan of the cheap poly fleece/foam padding on the forehead band either.I feel like sizing is something that needs to be addressed by the company, as this is safty gear that a lot lots of work sites require and “proper fit” is part of that requirement.Otherwise It’s a nice lightweight hardhat, that at type II exceeds basic OSHA requirements.

This helmet definitely feels more solid compared to the standard hard hats I have worn before yet still feels very comfortable to wear during a whole day at work. Six-point suspension system ensures an even weight distribution while the ratchet allows getting a tight fit almost instantly. The additional protection provided by the full brim seems to be really helpful in case of working outside. The internal padding of the helmet does not seem too bulky.

The Pyramex Ridgeline Type 2 Full Brim Hard Hat has been comfortable enough for full workdays while still providing the extra side impact protection that comes with a Type 2 helmet. After several hours of bending, climbing, looking overhead, and moving around a work area, it stays balanced instead of constantly shifting forward or needing to be readjusted.The 6 point suspension spreads the load around the head well. The ratchet is easy to reach with gloves on and allows small adjustments without removing the hard hat. Once tightened properly, it stays secure without needing to crank the suspension down excessively. The full brim has also been useful when working around falling dust, grinding debris, and the occasional drip from overhead equipment. Since this version is non vented, it also keeps debris from dropping through ventilation openings.Heat buildup is the main tradeoff. During warm indoor work or extended time outside, it gets hotter than vented Ridgeline models. That is expected with a non vented shell, but anyone working primarily in hot conditions should keep it in mind.Fit and comfort are better than many traditional full brim hard hats with basic 4 point suspensions. Those designs can put more pressure on a few spots around the head, especially after several hours. This is a GREAT hard hat! Yes, it is pricey but it is worth the premium. It is the most comfortable hard hat I have ever worn. Usually hard hats can be irritating to wear all day long but with this sometimes I forget I'm wearing one. It is extremely adjustable. You can adjust the headband and the chin strap. The headband adjustment has way more adjustment than any of the other hard hats I've owned. The chin strap is also very nice and comfortable. You aren't going to have to worry about your hard hat falling off which is very important depending on the type of work you do. There is another variety that is vented as well, but this is the non-vented version. The vented version is great for hotter weather, but this is a great year round hard hat if you are only buying one. This is made of quality material and is very durable. I 100% recommend this hard hat!!!!

I passed this around to a handful of carpenters for opinions, and the verdict was pretty consistent: it sits too high on the head.From a safety standpoint, it feels solid and well built. The suspension system is substantial, the full brim gives good coverage, and it definitely feels more protective than a basic hard hat. The tradeoff is that all of that extra structure makes it look a little like your hard hat is hovering above your actual head.The additional impact-protection system, similar to the MIPS-style concept you see in other helmets, sounds great on paper, but for everyday use none of the guys felt like it was worth the added bulk. It may also be part of why this model sits noticeably higher than a more traditional hard hat.I’ve also tried the vented Ridgeline, and yes, the vented version is definitely cooler. Shocking discovery: holes allow air to enter.Overall, this is a well-made hard hat with legitimate safety features, but the fit is going to be very person-dependent. If maximum protection is your priority, there’s a lot to like. If you already hate hard hats that sit high or make you feel like a construction-site mushroom, this probably won’t win you over.

TL;DR:Lightweight, comfortable, and easy-to-adjust hard hat that offers great head clearance without tight pressure points.Review:Grand-pa is a home inspector in his free time and owns a fixer-upper, so I surprised him with this hard hat to get his initial thoughts. Glad to report it passed inspection right out of the box!He mentioned that it feels remarkably light on his head without crushing down or creating tight pressure points. Adjusting the fit takes just seconds using the smooth, accessible knob and hardware. On the style side, we were joking that it gives off a bit of a classic British "Bobby" helmet look, but he genuinely likes it and has zero complaints.Now he is properly set for crawl spaces, and we are definitely going to miss his stories about knocking himself out—at least he is safe from that now!We were also curious why the pricing varied by color, but after looking into it, blue works great for all the trades he handles (electricians, plumbers, carpenters, and advisors). It turns out blue is ideal for a man of many hats! Grand-pa is safe, looks good, and this cap is a sound investment that will save us on medical bills.

I am not a regular user of hard hats, but this thing looks like what I would consider to be a very genuine hard hat. I see no reason to remove any stars.What I got is exactly what the Amazon page shows and describes. The harness inside the hat looks extremely well made. Looks and feels like very good quality, very good attention to detail.The outer plastic shell is not at all flimsy. It's quite robust. It is not vented, but I knew that when I ordered it. I may choose to cut a few vents in it. It has places on the upper helmet that look like places where vents would be if it had vents (that's not confusing is it?) I have not worn it enough yet to know if I really want to do that.It is really easy to adjust for head size and feels comfortable. It does sit high on my head, but I have a LARGE head. When I have seen construction folks wearing hard hats, their hard hats also seem to sit high. Might be necessary for better protection. I don't know.It is not heavy but feels quite robust. Strong. Looks like it would provide great protection from impacts coming from directly overhead. Not so much from the side.Seems to be priced competitively with other hard hats of the same type and protection level.
