This Vintage Rim Lock Set with Antique Brass Door Knob Rosette Plate, Antique Door Latch with Lock is really quite lovely. I lived in an old Victorian house years ago. This door lock set reminds me of the door hardware in that awesome old house - ornate, interesting and each one a small work of art. For new hardware, this knob set is a great value for the money. Original, similarly ornate hardware will cost a fortune. The lock set functions well. It looks to be durable, but it is too soon to say. The fit of internal components provides smooth and reliable movement of the internal components causing both the knobs and the locking mechanism to turn smoothly. Installation is straightforward forward. If you haven’t installed lock sets before - this set includes great instructions.

I got this rim lock set to install on a small door that’d look really nice with a rim lock. The beauty of the rim lock is that it’s exposed...super old timey looking. The rim lock that I got is styled as shown in the product pictures, but the finish on them is not good at all, for something that’s supposed to be brand new.There are chips, nicks & scratches in the painted black finish of the lock...you can see it scratched through to the the silver bare metal right on top, a very visible area after installed. The knobs also have visible wear & scuffs to them already & they haven’t even been used yet. Also, one of the screws on the backside of the lock arrived stripped out. All of this screams cheap to me & I’m not too thrilled with any of it.While everything seems functional & it's sized as described, the rough finish of the one that I got really makes “you get what you pay for” all too true. It's not durable in the least. I won't be using or installing this one. Made in China & not recommended.

We decided to use this on our treehouse door because we wanted something that felt unique and a little magical, and WOW did this do exactly that. The antique brass finish and all the little details look absolutely perfect on the wood. It genuinely looks like it belongs there.My favorite part is that our treehouse now opens with an actual skeleton key. 😂 Not only is that such a fun detail, but we now have a solid, functioning lock on our treehouse, which makes this practical too. It comes with several keys, which I definitely appreciate because I already know at least one will eventually disappear.Installation was actually much easier than we expected. We had zero issues getting everything installed and working properly, and both the lock and knob operate smoothly.This was one of those little projects that ended up making a MUCH bigger difference than I expected. It took a plain treehouse door and gave it so much character while also giving us a real solid lock. I absolutely love how it turned out.
