I ordered these even though me and my husband neither use a hard hat. We live in a very hot climate and walk every morning so I thought they would be perfect to use in our baseball hats. These worked great. I put them in the hat and put the hat in the freezer so it freezes to the form of the hat. You can’t even tell it is in your hat other than the coolness. I can definitely see why any worker that wears a hard hat would love these.

I was looking for a way to beat the summer heat and decided to give these Aolamegs hat cooling ice packs a try. For $18, you get a set of two. They fit perfectly inside a standard baseball cap and definitely do the job of keeping your head cool on hot days.The pack includes accessories to attach them to a hard hat, though I didn't end up using those since I only wear them with baseball caps. Instructions on how to assemble the ice packs were included and easy enough to follow.My only real issue is the cooling duration. The product description mentions it can cool for 1 to 4 hours, but in my experience, it only stays cold for about an hour. I’m giving it 4 out of 5 stars—it definitely works and keeps you cool, just don't expect it to last longer than an hour.

This hard hat cooling insert is a great idea for hot days. The gel packs are easy to use and fit nicely inside the hard hat without being bulky. I like that they are reusable and leak-free, so they can be used again and again. They stay cool for a good amount of time and provide a nice refreshing feeling when working outside. Very practical for anyone working in hot weather!

This kit includes two reusable ice packs, two absorbent sweat pads, and two adhesive Velcro strips. You attach the Velcro to the ice packs and then to the inside of the sweat pads so the ice pack isn't in direct contact with your head. Instead, it cools the inside of the hard hat through the liner.The preparation instructions were a little confusing. They say to freeze the packs, let them sit at room temperature for an hour, knead the gel, and then freeze them again for three hours. Once ready, they're supposed to provide cooling for about 1 to 4 hours, and the instructions recommend keeping the second pack in an insulated bag so you can swap it out during the day.I think it would probably provide some relief when working in the heat, but it feels like a bit of a process to get everything ready. Once you have a routine, it may be easier to manage.One thing I found odd is that the five-petal shape of the ice pack doesn't line up very well with the two suspension straps inside a typical hard hat. I had a hard time positioning it securely without bending or distorting the ice pack. The only way it seemed to fit better was to flip it upside down, which puts the cold side against your head instead of against the liner, making the intended design a little confusing.If you sweat heavily, the absorbent sweat pad will likely collect quite a bit of moisture over the course of the day, so it will probably need to be washed or replaced regularly.Overall, I like the idea of a reusable cooling insert for hard hats, especially for anyone working in hot conditions. I just think the design and installation could be improved to make it fit more naturally inside the helmet.

I work outside in South Texas heat and my hard hat turns into a sauna by 9 AM. These cooling inserts are the real deal. I've been using mine for a few weeks, freezing and reusing them daily, no issues. They freeze back up fast too, a few hours in the freezer and they're ready to go again. The material feels durable, not like the cheap ice packs that split open after a couple uses.You get two sets in the pack which is perfect. I keep one in the freezer and one in my lunchbox cooler, swap them out midday when the first set warms up. That gets me through a full shift with a cool head.For $20 this is one of the best work gear purchases I've made. If you wear a hard hat in the heat, do yourself a favor and get these. Your head will thank you.
