I ordered this 4-pack of LED flat panel lights as a test to see how much of a difference they would make compared with my existing fluorescent fixtures. After installing them, the answer is simple: the difference is night and day!The panels are surprisingly lightweight, which made them very easy to handle and install. Being able to get rid of the old fluorescent ballasts is a huge plus, and installation was straightforward. They dropped right into the existing ceiling grid without any major hassle. The light output is exceptionally bright and evenly distributed. The room looks noticeably brighter and cleaner, without the buzzing, flickering, harsh glare, or dark spots I associate with older fluorescent lighting. I set mine to a natural-looking color temperature, and the result is incredibly close to having natural daylight throughout the space.I also really like the flexibility these provide. Having five selectable color temperatures and five wattage settings makes it easy to customize the lighting for the space and control energy usage. The 0-10V dimming capability adds even more control when full brightness isn't necessary.Another thing I appreciate is how cool and efficient these panels run. They use significantly less energy than the fluorescent fixtures they replaced while providing much better illumination. The clean, low-profile design also gives the ceiling a much more modern appearance.Bright, efficient, customizable, easy to install, and a major improvement over traditional fluorescent panels. These are an excellent value and an easy 5-star recommendation!
I ordered this 2-pack as a sample to see what, if any, difference these would make when replacing my existing fluorescent lights with LED panels. The short answer? The difference is night and day.The first thing I noticed out of the box is that they are super lightweight, which made handling them a breeze. Installation was super simple, and the fact that I don't have to mess around with old, buzzing ballasts is a massive plus. I was able to complete the wiring and drop them right into the ceiling grid completely on my own without any hassle. The result? A significantly brighter and whiter room. I love the ability to adjust the color hue with the built-in switch. I personally set mine to natural light, and it honestly feels like I just installed custom sunroof panels in the ceiling. The light distribution is perfectly even and glare-free.For the price, I find great value in these panels. They use less energy, run completely cool, and provide me with beautiful, natural light. It is an absolute win-win purchase.I am so impressed with this sample pack that I am officially going to order enough to replace all 60 of the fluorescents across my entire space. Highly recommended!
. I grabbed this two pack of drop ceiling panels a few days ago to brighten up my gloomy basement workshop. they are extremely thin and weigh practically nothing which makes sliding them into the ceiling grid by yourself super easy. I bumped the edges hard against the metal grid while maneuvering them into place and the aluminum frames did not bend or warp at all. i wired them up and they put out a massive wall of bright white light that completely eliminates all the shadows on my messy workbenches. the integrated driver boxes on the back feel a little flimsy when you are punching out the wiring knockouts. they totally transformed the space into a proper working area. Installation was pretty easy when following the included directions. The color ranges from warm to cool white all in all I would say this is a very good value for the cost
These LED flat panel lights are definitely an improvement over traditional fluorescent drop-ceiling fixtures. They provide clean, even light, eliminate the annoying flicker and hum of fluorescent tubes, and give a much more modern appearance. The selectable brightness and color temperature options are a nice bonus, making it easy to tailor the lighting to your space. That said, they're still drop-ceiling lights, so there's only so much they can do from an aesthetics standpoint. They look better than old fluorescent fixtures, but they aren't going to make a basement feel especially warm or inviting. For the price, I'm not entirely convinced they're the best investment for a basement or recreation room, where a few well-placed floor lamps or other decorative lighting could create a more comfortable atmosphere for less money. However, for a workshop, office, garage, studio, or other task-oriented space where bright, even illumination is the priority, these perform well and are a solid choice. Installation is a pain, just like anything with a drop ceiling. I can't imagine these lasting for a decade, but maybe 3-5 years.Overall, I think they're a good product for the right application. If you're replacing old fluorescent panels in a workspace, they're absolutely worth considering. If you're simply trying to brighten up a finished basement, there may be more cost-effective and attractive lighting options.
I recently upgraded my workspace with these LED lights, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Installation was quick and hassle-free; the panels are lightweight, and all the mounting hardware was included, so I had both lights up and running in no time, even with minimal electrical experience. The build quality is excellent; the panels feel durable and well-made, so I’m confident they’ll last a long time. One of my favorite features is the ability to adjust both the brightness and the color temperature. Whether I want a warm, cozy light or bright, daylight-like illumination, it’s easy to dial in exactly what I need for any task. The dimming function is super smooth, and it’s great to be able to control the light intensity for different times of day or activities. These panels look sleek and modern, instantly updating the look of my office. The light is even and comfortable on the eyes; no flicker or harsh spots. For the price, you’re getting a lot of versatility and quality. If you need reliable, adjustable lighting for an office, studio, garage, or any large space, I’d definitely recommend giving these a try. They really are a great value and make a huge difference in how the space feels and functions.
I don't have a drop ceiling in my garage, but I did need better lighting. These two light panels made all the difference!I had two bare light bulbs in the ceiling of my garage, so replacing them with these two 2x2 foot panels was pretty easy. I made a custom wood frame to hold each light up in the rafters and then connected the wires as specfied. Requires knowledge of wiring 120AC, which isn't too hard. Black to black, white to white and green to green - using wire nuts. I did need to buy a couple strain-relievers for the wire feed into the light box, but everything went together really well. Now I have a bright and wide source of lighting right where I need it the most and everything works off the same switch as it did before. No glaring bulbs, no mismatched color values - just clean bright light! Highly recommended - even if you don't have a drop ceiling! You'll save energy, too!
These LED lighting panels are impressively well made. The lightweight metal frame paired with the light‑diffusing plastic front gives them a clean, modern look, and they fit perfectly into a standard 2 ft × 2 ft drop‑ceiling grid. The frame sits flush on the rails, wiring is simple, and the side clips secure everything neatly in place. They offer five adjustable wattage levels and a toggle that lets you shift the color temperature anywhere from a warm 3000K to a bright, cool 6500K. The panels are very lightweight and easy to position, though because they sit flush rather than dropping below the grid, any bends in the ceiling rails will be more noticeable. The light output is excellent, and the combination of adjustable brightness and color temperature makes it easy to dial in exactly what you want. One important note: these panels are only dimmable with a 0–10V dimmer—they won’t work with a standard wall dimmer. In areas where dimming isn’t needed, they’re a perfect upgrade from fluorescent fixtures.Overall, these panels are a versatile, modern option for any room with a drop ceiling, especially if you want lighting that can match your preferred color tone and brightness.
These Horselume flat panel LED lights are exactly what we needed. We wanted bright lights for our kitchen, and these lights produce 9630 lumens, adequate for performing surgery. This 2 pack is perfect for our needs. We bought and installed one of these lights last year, but we wanted to get another 2x2 flat panel light as a backup. This 2 pack should take care of us for quite a while. Flat panel LED lights have really dropped in price. We ordered a single light in March 2025 and it was $69.99 for one. This two pack was only $79.99, and it is even brighter. These light panels are designed for a drop ceiling, and should just drop into place where a ceiling panel would normally go. While the product description does not indicate that the light cannot be used on a flat ceiling, they do clearly state “Designed for standard T-grid drop ceilings or flush mount installation”, which makes it kind of obvious. That said, we have a 4x4 recessed area on our kitchen ceiling that originally had a pair of fluorescent lights and covered by two 2x4 frosted acrylic lay-in ceiling light panels. I replaced those lights with a single flat panel LED light. Typically, if you need to mount it to something flat you have to buy a surface mount kit, which can be purchased separately. They cost around $36 for a two pack on Amazon. I improvised a different approach for securing the light panel to the ceiling. The recessed area of our ceiling has an electrical outlet controlled by a wall switch, so I just attached the light wires to a 14” 3-prong electrical cord. You can also directly wire it to your home’s 110V power. Its design makes it easy to wire. These backup lights will slide right into our existing mounting system whenever the original light panel reach end-of-life. The are brighter, but other than that the profile differs very little. We were looking for bright backup LED 2x2 flat panel lights, and we found them! These are excellent lights.
