These are great bolt on straps for the back of a jet ski or small boat. Once bolted to the trailer, you will never misplace them and since all of the slack stays wound on the ratchet drum, you don't have to mess with figuring out what to do with the excess. The hooks have spring loaded closures so won't fall off once attached and the auto-rewind feature works very smooth. Overall these are great straps and I will more than likely be getting another set for my other jet ski trailer. Not a complaint but an observation - just be aware that these don't have a super huge weight rating so you wouldn't want to use them on a large boat and while I initially was disappointed that the included mounting bolts weren't grade 8, the bolts that are included are heavy enough for the weight rating.Bottom line, I would absolutely recommend these. Once mounted, very easy to use and great way to secure your boat/jet ski.

I actually ordered the wrong version of these, but that mistake at least taught me that I really like this style of ratchet strap.I thought I was ordering regular retractable tie-downs with a hook on each end. These are actually the bolt-on version, designed to be permanently mounted to a trailer, truck, boat trailer, or similar application. The ratchet mechanism stays mounted in place and you pull out the single 7-foot strap with its vinyl-coated S-hook when you need it.Each strap is 1 inch wide and is rated for a 500-pound working load with a 1,500-pound breaking strength. The set includes two straps along with the mounting bolts and locking nuts.Since I really wanted the portable version, I ended up ordering the equivalent non-bolt-down straps as well. They use essentially the same hardware, and I've been using those in the back of my truck with great results, so I at least got a good opportunity to see how the mechanism works in actual use.Compared with traditional ratchet straps, these are definitely a little heavier and the ratcheting action is slightly slower. Other than that, I prefer the retractable design in pretty much every way. There is no pile of tangled webbing to deal with, no fishing the loose end through the center of the ratchet, and no figuring out what to do with several feet of excess strap after everything is tight. When you're finished, you release the mechanism and the entire strap retracts neatly back into the housing. The S-hooks also have safety clips, which is a nice addition since they are less likely to bounce off an attachment point while traveling. These particular bolt-on straps weren't what I intended to order, but that's entirely on me. For someone who wants permanent retractable tie-downs on a trailer or other fixed location, these seem very well made. After using the same style of retractable hardware on the portable version, I'm probably spoiled now. Traditional ratchet straps suddenly seem unnecessarily annoying.

I didn't realize when I ordered these that they were not regular ratchet straps, which can be attached with a loop to a truck bed. These are transom straps, which means you have to attach the actual ratchet mechanism to a flat spot on your truck. Our new truck doesn't have a place to attach a ratchet like this, so I'm not very well qualified to review them. We tested them a bit in the house, and they feel well made. They are smooth to unroll and the ratchet mechanism both latched and unlatched as we expected it to.

These EXVITAL Auto Retractable Ratchet Tie Down Straps honestly came at the perfect time. My husband was heading out on a fishing trip a couple of states away, and they were taking the boat with them, so having a reliable way to secure it to the trailer was important. We bolted these retractable ratchet straps onto the trailer and used them as transom straps, giving us an extra level of confidence knowing the boat wasn't going anywhere during the long drive. The retractable design is incredibly convenient, when you're finished, you simply release the strap and it rolls right back into place, eliminating the hassle of dealing with loose straps that you can trip on.The quality of these straps is impressive. The webbing is thick and durable, the stitching is tight and consistent, and I found no loose threads or signs of fraying anywhere. The ratchet mechanism operates smoothly, tightens easily, and releases without fighting you. The coated S-hooks are a nice touch because they help prevent scratches on your truck, trailer, or whatever you're securing. I also appreciate the added safety clips that provide extra peace of mind by helping ensure the hooks stay securely attached. Overall, these are heavy-duty, well-made, and extremely handy ratchet straps that perform exactly as they should. Considering the quality and convenience, the price is very reasonable and makes them an excellent value.

These retractable ratchet straps feel very well made and sturdy. The ratchet mechanism and hardware have a solid, heavy-duty feel, and the straps themselves seem to be good quality. One feature I really like is the retractable design. It keeps the extra strap neatly contained instead of leaving long lengths hanging everywhere, which makes them much easier to use and store than traditional ratchet straps. The hooks and safety clips also feel secure, and I like that the set includes the hardware needed for installation.Overall, these seem like a very convenient option for securing cargo, especially for a trailer, truck, ATV, or other equipment. The quality feels great so far, and the retractable design makes them much less frustrating and messy to use than regular tie-down straps. I’m very happy with them so far! They were really simple to install on my own which was another huge plus. I think given all these things the value is very good and the price is fair.

If you are tired of dealing with tangled loose straps, flapping tail ends, and slow setup times on a trailer or truck bed, these bolt-on retractable ratchet straps are a massive upgrade. The bolt-on footprint is standard and mounts flush against trailer rails, racks, or bed anchor points. The included mounting hardware aligns easily with standard pre-drilled trailer holes or custom brackets. The steel housing and ratcheting mechanism feel heavy-duty and well-built. The protective coating on the metal resists chipping and corrosion, and the webbing is tightly woven with reinforced stitching that doesn't fray easily.Installation is a breeze. It's essentially a one-bolt install per strap using standard hand tools. Once torqued down with the lock washer/nut, the base remains rigid and secure. The auto-retract mechanism is the standout feature. Pull the strap out to hook your load, give it a few ratchets to lock down tight, and you're done. When you hit the quick-release lever, the strap rewinds automatically into the spool—eliminating excess strap flapping in the wind or having to tie off knots. The convenience factor alone makes them well worth the price. Eliminating strap tangles and cutting tie-down time down to seconds makes this set a fantastic value for securing motorcycles, ATVs, mowers, or general cargo. Sturdy construction, smooth ratcheting and retracting action, and a permanent bolt-on design that makes securing loads effortless.

Loose ratchet straps in the truck bed always turn into a rat nest after a couple weekends of hauling. I have ordered a few types of retractable straps for my truck & utility trailer and now it is pull the vinyl-coated S-hook, cinch it down, and hit the blue button when the load is off. Strap winds itself back into the housing so nothing is dragging on the pavement or getting tangled around a jack handle. The safety clip on the hook is the part that actually matters on rough roads, cheaper hooks bounce off a D-ring if you hit a pothole. Mounting is straightforward with the bolts and lock nuts they included. Seven feet covers most stuff in the truck or trailer, though a little more length would help when you have to wrap a taller item. But you can just use a tree strap etc to easily bridge the gap.I’m slowly switching all my EDC straps to retractable because much more convenient & quicker deployment so they will be used instead of justifying not using them because they have to be re- stowed for storage after usage or they will be a total mess. Not hard to use traditional & wind up for storage but it is time consuming so retractable straps will win every time for me if I have proper rated & length available.Been using retractable straps in my truck for about a year now. I use them more frequently than I did loose ratchet straps because I use them even on loads that really don’t need them also but convenience makes it a no brainer to take extra precautions. These particular straps are light duty but can be used for stabilizers imo.
