EMT Offset Connectors UL Listed

These work fine with the boxes and 1/2" emt conduit I get at Lowe's.

These seem to be good quality EMT offset connectors with no obvious flaws, and they do bear a legacy UL mark.The thing is, it's not possible to determine if that UL mark is counterfeit, because the packaging doesn't include the FULL version of the mark that includes the listing number. The manufacturer's name and address is also missing from the packaging. According to UL, those are two warning signs that the listing may not be legitimate.Chances are these would pass inspection by your average U.S. building inspector. The question is, do you yourself care about using genuine UL-listed parts? If so, you'll probably want to give these a pass because they don't meet UL's own guidelines for avoiding counterfeit parts.

These are just as nice, if not better, than what you can get in the big box stores’ electrical supply section. For when making an offset out of conduit isn’t feasible, these work great. The castings are good, all screws and threaded holes work smoothly and the lock ring has no problem staying tight. If you’re not under a time crunch for conduit offsets , I’d definitely recommend ordering these vs one of the big name box stores home of the not so low prices.

I could have bent these out of EMT conduit but I only needed a few new outlets and so I opt for the easy way. These are worth the expense as a time saver and to keep from wasting material if you are not a good bender. With the use of these I can support my conduit flush with the wall and maintain the flatness into my outlet box. The quality and price are good and 3 to a pack was exactly what I needed.

When running EMT along a way and needed to terminate in a junction box, you can either use your bending jig to make an offset or use one of these fittings. If you do not bend conduit and EMT regularly, making an offset can burn a lot of time. With these, you just need to use the set screw on the tubing and you are done. These are 1/2 inch trade size which in actual measurement is closer to 3/4 of an inch. The have the UL rating so they are good for use in a project subject to inspection. The zinc alloy finish allows them to resist rust. Where the fastener is a set screw only, these should be used in locations that are rated "dry." The locknut end is nicely cast with clean finished threads and the locknut glides on smoothly.

If you are running EMT conduit on the surface of a wall, you need these offsets to connect to a box unless you are using some sort of standoff. Even then, having a box offset fitting is useful so you can get everything tight against the wall.The price for these is about what you would pay at a box store, so the value here is OK. You can buy these in bulk from an electrical supply store and get a much better price, but depending on the size of your project, these might be just what you need.The quality seems as good as name brands like RACO, Hubbel, or Halex. The connector fits metal box knockouts with no issues and the lock ring has a good bite when tight. The other end accepts EMT tubing and holds it well after the screw is tightened.These are good parts.

I picked up these offset connectors because I wanted to avoid making multiple offset bends for a small DIY conduit project, and they worked exactly as intended. They allowed my conduit to sit perfectly flat against the wall. These are a great value and offer significant savings compared to my local hardware store's offering.I do wish they came in a pack of four rather than three. Also, be careful not to lose the set screws during installation; they use a different thread/cut than the standard connectors you’ll find at local hardware stores, so you can’t easily swap them out with spares if one goes missing. And lastly, make sure you get anti-short or 1/2 insulated bushings for these connectors. I have them but accidentally skipped putting them on the connector and stripped my wire a little when pulling before remembering to put them on. This would have happened with any connector and was totally my fault.
