These 18" cable cutters make it easy to cut large copper wiring with clean cuts.The cable cutters are very large with a large opening cutter on the end. The handles are yellow metal with large plastic grips on the ends. There is a bolt with nut where the jaws come together at the pivot that can be adjusted if needed. As the cutting jaws close they first contact at the tip and then through the rest which kind of grabs onto the cable and keeps it from sliding out of the cutters as you complete the cut. The cutting jaws are labeled as being Cr-Mo metal. The overall length of the cutters from tip to end of handle is approximately 18.75". I weighed the cutters at 33.12 ounces.Using the cutters they come pretty tight where the jaws come together. This lets you position cable and start the cut and it'll stay in place without flopping open if you need to readjust your handle position or the cable position. The resulting cut on copper wiring was very clean and provided nice straight ends. Comparing these to using bolt cutters these produce a cleaner cut and as the blades pass each other there's no stray uncut strands after the cut.These are really nice cable cutters to have if you work with large size wire or cable.

This review is for LIYU 18-Inch Industrial Cable Cutter, CR-MO Steel Forged Manual Wire Cutter with High-Frequency Quenched Blades, for Aluminum Cables, Copper Wires & Communication Cables (18 Inch)This is a very budget made cable cutter, it is not a chain cutter. Good for thick coax, copper, bell wire, romex and the like, primarily wire and not cable as the cutting opening is just over 1 inch. Softer wires and softer metal like aluminum. The cutting blades are held in by a crimp of the steel handles, see photo. There are rubber grip handles. At 18" your leverage is limited as there is no ratchet mechanism to assist in cutting its all up to your muscles. The rating is based on the description calling this an "industrial" type which it is not. If you have a one or two off need then this tool will help with soft wire and larger gauge cables.

I got these because I was looking for something better to cut wire than my lineman pliers. My old pliers really hurt my hands if I had a lot of wire to cut, but these cutters are very sharp and cut Romex like butter. They also made a really clean cut without mashing the wire, unlike poor quality pliers.I got the 18" version of these cutters because I'm not cutting any wire that is really huge with these, but if you are cutting really large wire on a regular basis, I would recommend getting the 24" version because it would have quite a bit more leverage.The only downside to using full size cutters like these is that they are really large and are not as easy to carry around as smaller pliers, but they really do help out if you have a lot of wire to cut. They are also essential if you have a lot of large gauge wire to cut like for doing service entrance work.It should be noted that these are only for cutting soft wire such as copper or aluminum. They are not designed to cut steel cable. If you try to cut steel cable with them, you will likely ruin the cutters with the first cut.At the current sale price of $23.79 for the 18" cutters, I would rate these as a really good value for the money. Most cutters from the big brands cost a lot more than this. These may not be quite as good of quality as some of the big brands, but they are a lot more inexpensive.
