This is one of those tools you'll pull out on those occasions where you just can't get to a fastener any other way. It won't work for every situation, but can be invaluable in the right conditions. The bar itself is reasonably compact and comes with all of the right adapters. The fit and finish aren't quite perfect, but at this price point, I'm willing to settle for a few imperfections as long as they don't interfere with function. This thing is going to get beat up in the coming years anyway. The case is of reasonably good quality and is worth keeping so you don't lose the adapters. As compact as this is, I doubt that the chain inside is super thick, so I don't recommend trying to exceed the recommended 55 ft-lbs limit. Like I said, it's another tool to keep in the arsenal. It won't do everything, but it just might save you a lot of time and frustration.

This, as others have pointed out already, is a decently heavy duty offset extension. The sort of thing I really shouldn't weigh down my toolbox with, but why not? I'd guess that most of the time this is needed is because you're taking a shortcut you shouldn't be taking, so it probably won't get much use and doesn't need to be the same quality as your ratchet set. That said, the case is sturdy and closes solidly, the tool itself feels solid and has a metal chain inside, and the included afapters provide maximum utility.Two of the adapters were in the wrong spot, but I just switched them and it was fine. The larger 3/8" to 1/8" adapter pushes in from the front while the others push in from the rear.I actually expect I'll get the most use out of the accessory adapter to reach Phillips or Torx heads that are in some terrible angle.I have another Startual product, a ratcheting screwdriver set, that is decent but much less sturdy than this. That case arrived broken to me, and barely holds together. Seems like they've fixed their case design a little with this product, which is appreciated.Overall, buy this if you need it rather than something way more expensive.

I can't even count the number of times I have tried to figure out how to loosen bolts in tight spaces, without even knowing this tool exists! It came up in my recommended items one day, but I didn't know what it was. Once I clicked in and read the description and viewed the photos, my brain lit up with joy! Once you have had the pleasure (sarcasm) of working deep in the engine bay of your truck, or somewhere similar, you'll know what I mean.Everything about this product is great. The packaging is just straight-up post-consumer cardboard, nothing extraneous. It comes in a nice plastic case, and while I dislike plastic, it really is the only reasonable option for something like this. The tool itself is finished nicely - it looks/feels like anodized aluminum and is a nice bright red color that makes it easy to pick out if you are like me and end up with tool piles on occasion....It comes with 4 different square drive adaptors, and works with all standard sockets. The chain drive action is nice and smooth, adding negligible mechanical friction to the process of tightening or loosening bolts. The length itself is great - it is long enough to reach most places you might need to get to but it isn't unwieldy.The built quality is also great - it feels like a solid tool that will stand up to a good deal of home use. I don't say this as a bad thing at all (especially recently), but it feels like one of the nicer tools you could get at Harbor Freight. That is to say, it isn't a professional-quality 50 year tool, but it is MORE than enough for most hobbyists or folks who don't need the $100 version of this sort of thing.The right tool for the job makes doing the work much more pleasant, so if this is something that you can see being useful, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this product.

This is one of those tools you don't need often. But when access is limited, no other tool will get the job done. I had similar tools in the past, but the price was too high. Seeing this at a much more affordable price, which weighs heavier on a low use tool, was a welcome sight. And I knew the price was potentially going to come with some compromises. Boy was I wrong. During initial testing, all worked well. The adapters clipped in firmly with no danger of falling out. Yet removal was not overly difficult. The only two hiccups were the labeled positions of the adapters did not match the custom sized spots in the case. But that's being nit picky, the appearance is different enough you don't need the label to tell them apart. The other issue is the adapter for the 1/4" drive bits. It's an add-on for the 1/4" socket adapter so that doubles the length. And since this is meant for tight spaces that was a bad design decision. It should have been it's own adapter that drops in like the other three.When I was testing the turning, it was buttery smooth. And I began to suspect that the "high-tensile specialized chain" mentioned in the listing might actually be a plastic drive belt. Not a deal breaker at this price point, but I wanted to know what is was made of before I put any real strain on this tool. After all, using 1/2" drive sockets is gonna put some strain on even if the wrench at the other end is only 3/8". So I decided to open it up to see how it was build inside. I almost had to use a cheater bar on the hex screws to get them out. The did come loose, but not until I was worrying about stripping or breaking the allen key. Once loose, it came apart easily. I was pleasantly surprised to see an all-metal chain drive inside connecting solid metal gear teeth. Except for the blow molded case, there's not a bit of plastic to be found. And there's not a sound or any hangup when turning this wrench. I only did some light testing so it might get a bit worse under heavy load, such as breaking a bolt loose, but I can't imaging any way to have built this any tougher. And when it was going back together, there was just a slight bow in the middle of sides that worked well to close the gap between the halves nice and tight as the screws were tightened down. Any dirt or debris getting inside and gunking up the chain is gonna have to work for it.

This is the type of tool you do not know you need until you do. I needed to change the starter on my V6 boat I/O motor where you have to stand on your head to work on the bottom of the engine down in the boat bilge. Access is difficult and the space to move the ratchet is very limited. This tool came to the rescue because the moving ratchet is at the other end of the tool from the socket and allowed the ratchet to be located where it could freely move. This tool provided a very economical good value solving an unusual configuration problem that normal flexible ratchets and extensions could not solve. The wrench photo show a ratchet and socket not included with the tool. The tool includes adapters to use 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" sockets and 1/4" bits. My only concern with this tool is that it uses a chain and gears to transfer the torque and this assembly is only rated for 55 ft-lbs. It is pretty easy to produce more than that rated torque with a large ratchet or a small impact wrench that will tear the tool apart so this tool should not be used with larger impact wrenches. I recommend you add this economical extension wrench to your tool box so you can continue to work when you come across one of those unusual unanticipated wrench clearance problems.

I didn't have any particular use for this when I ordered it, but if it's tools then it isn't hoarding, right?Seriously, this is one of those things that you might not need very often, but sooner or later you'll come across a nut or bolt that is nearly inaccessible and a tool like this will instantly become your best friend.Although the openings are 3/8", you can drive it with a 1/2" ratchet or breaker bar with the appropriate adapter. There are adapters included so you can use 1/4", 3/8" or 1/2" sockets, plus standard 6-sided 1/4" impact bits (you use the 3/8" to 3/8' adapter with that).It appears to be well made with no defects in construction or the finish, and the adapters are nicely machined with no burrs or rough edges. Everything come in a nice sturdy case.One of the pictures shows that this is compatible with impact wrenches. However, in the same picture is says that the maximum torque is 55 ft-lbs. Even my Kreg compact impact wrench can deliver 275 ft-lbs of torque, which is five times greater than this tool's rating. And my Kreg high torque impact wrench can deliver 1200 ft-lbs of torque, which would probably tear this thing apart. So if you intend to use this tool with an impact wrench, be extremely careful and use the lowest speed you can. And it goes without saying, but always use an impact rated socket as well if you're using an impact wrench on the other end.
