This ground stake post holder is seriously heavy duty! Installation was definitely a challenge in my hard clay soil full of rocks, but once I got it in, it did exactly what I needed.It was a perfect fit for my post and feels incredibly strong and durable. I used it to make the coolest gymnastics bar for my daughter, and I'm really impressed with how sturdy it is. used this for a small outdoor post project where I wanted something more straightforward than digging a large hole and setting the post in concrete. The steel feels sturdy, and the black powder-coated finish gives it a clean appearance while adding protection for outdoor use. A standard nominal 4×4 post fits securely inside.The biggest thing is taking your time when driving it into the ground because it can start leaning if you are not checking the alignment as you go. Once installed and secured, it feels stable for lighter-duty applications such as garden fencing, mailbox posts, or similar projects. Soil conditions will definitely affect how easy the installation is.

Using this product is so much easier than digging a hole!Our mailbox gets hit at least once a year. We live on a curve and have replace the mailbox more than we should have to. Our old post was set in the ground, but after multiple car hits, the whole has widened and I'm sick of pouring dirt in it. I haven't pored concrete in the hole because I worry about the liability of having a firmly anchored post.This post anchor was the perfect solution. The installation was quick and easy. I picked my spot, used a small piece of 4x4 to hammer this into the ground. The anchor fit the new post firmly and I used the included screw to attach the post to the anchor. It's very sturdy, and the powder coated finish should make this last a really long time.

This is a great post anchor that installs easily and works in different types of soil.It's a study spike that attaches easily to a nominal 4x4 (actually 3.6"x3.6" so make sure you measure!) with the included screws in about 60 seconds. You can use your hands or a mallet to drive it into the soil, and the construction of the spike allows it to easily go into soft to firm soil, and if placed carefully can do moderately rocky soil too. You could also drive the spike in and then place the post, but that could be a little awkward.The legnth of the spike is great in terms of really holding the post, even without using a post holer or laying in some pea gravel for drainage. The black metal looks good, and will complement black post caps nicely. The fit over the posts is pretty much perfect, and results in a sturdy and durable hold.These are well worth it if you want a quick and easy way to put posts in the ground without digging too many holes!

I picked this up with a specific project in mind, and it went to work almost immediately.Over the past couple of years, what started as a small garden has grown into something much bigger than we originally planned. I just think strong durable it's well built and made and solid. That's powder coated with whatever so I should probably hold up and last a good long time in the dirt. That's probably not the best way to put in fence posts and whatnot I feel like this would be a good temporary solution definitely get the post in the ground mounted properly or even these would be great but these in the ground below you're in the ground posts that are of foot to two feet deep and add some support and anchoring there as shown in the picture and the listing and sitting on top of the dirt you could probably get away with this like in a middle piece like I said if the wood breaks or something and you need some temporary support until you can get it done properly it'll work and help or if you're making like a chicken goop or something like that that's more supported these would be decent and would work putting these all along the fence line I feel like one big good gust of wind would tip the whole thing over. But the product itself is very well made it will last you a good long time.

Because we have a lot of property, we use quite a few of these types of post spikes for setting up our custom-built birdhouses and managing outdoor projects. The name brand ones at the local home improvement stores are just very expensive, sometimes up to triple the price of this one. Therefore, I wanted to see one that fits more in our budget that would still work with our tough soil.The build quality on this one is excellent, and it has a nice, heavy powder coated finish. Instead of doing a full concrete setup like I’ve had to do for other heavy duty projects, I decided to test this one out strictly with the traditional pounding in method to see how it would hold up. Our soil near the house is that stubborn, hard red clay, which can be a real pain to work with. I just slipped a short piece of scrap 4x4 wood into the sleeve to protect the metal, grabbed the sledgehammer, and drove it vertically straight into the ground until it was flush.The wavy texture on the spike section really bit into the clay and locked it into place beautifully. It didn't twist or lean on the way down, and once it was in, the stability was fantastic. It saved me a ton of time and labor since I didn't have to dig a single hole or mess around with mixing cement. The post fits snugly, and the screws it came with made it quick to secure. We will absolutely be buying more of these to keep on hand for our future outdoor setups.

The post anchor overall is sturdy and well made. The spike is attached to the post-fitting top with welding lines that are well made. The closing welding line for the top post encasing is so well made that it is hard to tell there is welding - see my picture. The top part is 4" high out of the 16" total, leaving 12" for the the spike to go into the ground. Well coated with black powder, and this coating looks uniform and adherent. The metal sheet this is made of is about 1/16" thick. The instructions state 5that this anchor is not design for high load bearing, only fence posts and mailboxes posts, There are 10 self-drilling wood screws provided, even though there are only 8 holes in the top post-attaching part. Inside the small bag these came in there were a lot of small coating chips, as shown in my picture - the coating on these screws may not be the best, expect these to rust.I appreciate the packaging this anchor came in, simple but efficient, with enough cushioning to avoid any wiggling and not allow the spike to penetrate through the cardboard walls of the box.
