've always liked the look of liquid motion lamps, and this one keeps that classic flowing wax effect while adding quite a bit more control over the lighting. At 14 inches tall it's large enough to stand out on a nightstand, shelf, or desk without taking up a ridiculous amount of space. The wax takes a little time to get moving, but once it does it's really relaxing to watch. It slowly forms different blobs that rise, separate, and fall back down, so the pattern is constantly changing. It works equally well as a fun decoration or just something to have glowing in the background while relaxing at night.Being able to change the LED color is what really sets it apart from the traditional versions I've had. There are 17 colors to choose from, along with brightness adjustment and several changing effects. I usually prefer leaving it on one solid color or using the slower transitions, but the flash and strobe options are there if you want something more active. The remote is convenient since I don't have to reach behind the lamp whenever I want to change something. The automatic eight-hour shutoff is another feature I appreciate, especially if it's being used as a nightlight. I don't have to worry as much about accidentally leaving it running all night and into the next day.Construction feels pretty solid too. The glass chamber has some weight to it, and the metal base keeps the lamp stable on a flat surface. The LED design also doesn't produce the same amount of heat I associate with older liquid motion lamps, although I'd still treat it like a lamp and give it a safe spot where it isn't likely to get knocked over. It's also just a fun decorative piece. It has the retro look of a classic motion lamp, but being able to switch between colors makes it much easier to match different rooms or moods. I could see this working especially well in a bedroom, gaming room, office, or anywhere you want some interesting ambient lighting. At $29.99, I think there's plenty here for the money. The flowing wax effect looks great, the RGB lighting gives you a lot more variety than a standard single-color lamp, and the remote and timer make it surprisingly convenient. It's one of those decorations that's entertaining to mess with at first and then ends up becoming really nice background lighting.

This lamp, without a doubt, is one of my absolute favorite purchases when it comes to light based, visual entertainment for relaxation, especially after work, before bed, etc. - And it does the job I ask of it beautifully, helping me to relax when I need it the most, so I would absolutely recommend it.On top of that, it feels very sturdy and well made, and the color options are numerous as well as beautiful.Having so many options without having to own dozens of different lamps like we used to makes it even more enjoyable, in part because it’s SO easy to completely change the look or vibe of any room in your house, depending on the style of said room, and whatever other lighting you're using in it. I personally have a ‘water light’ that sits beside this, as the two play off of each other in interesting ways, with different patterns and colors interacting.Besides all of that, once it’s been turned on and properly warmed up, the wax has plenty of movement and activity. It does take some time to fully warm up, which is normal for this type of lamp, but once it gets going it looks fantastic, and after the first time, which required approximately two hours for it to get going, it doesn’t seem to take nearly as long, 2/3rds, maybe even half as long actually.I genuinely love this thing, and it’s nice to have one again after a good 20 years without. It's bright, colorful, well made, and the bloops do exactly what bloops are supposed to do. Absolutely no complaints from me, and I would give this a 20 out of 10 if I could with zero hesitation. As it stands, 10 out of 10 will have to do, and I HIGHLY recommend this.

I like the overall look of this lamp, but it was a little smaller than I expected based on the listing. At 14 inches, it has a decent presence, but it doesn't have quite the impact I was hoping for.One thing to know is that this isn't really a traditional lava lamp. The liquid motion is different from the classic lava-lamp effect, so if you're specifically looking for those slow-moving blobs of wax floating and separating, this isn't quite that. It's more of a colorful liquid motion/mood light. The 17 color options are fun, and the remote makes it easy to change the colors and settings without getting up. The timer is also a nice feature, especially if you're using it as a bedroom or relaxation light. It creates a relaxing atmosphere and would be especially fun in a bedroom, office, or kids' room. I just think the description could set expectations a little better regarding the size and the type of liquid motion.Overall, it's a fun decorative light with lots of color options, but don't buy it expecting a traditional lava lamp. If you're looking for a colorful mood light with movement, it's enjoyable. If you're specifically after the classic lava-lamp experience, I'd look elsewhere.

I really like the number of color and lighting options this lamp provides. The included remote makes it easy to change both the color and the lighting mode without having to reach behind the lamp or unplug it. My favorite mode is the fade mode. It smoothly transitions from one color to another and gives the lamp a nice effect without being distracting. There are plenty of other colors and modes to choose from, so it is easy to find something that fits the mood or room. Setup was extremely simple. There really was not much to do other than plug it in and put the cap on the lamp. Once powered up, I was able to use the remote to select the colors and modes I wanted.I did discover one limitation that is worth mentioning. I wanted to connect the lamp to a smart outlet so I could schedule it to turn on and off automatically. Unfortunately, when power is restored, the lamp does not return to its previous state. It remains off, so I have to use the remote to turn it back on. That makes it less useful for the particular smart outlet application I had in mind. The lamp also took a little while to heat up and start flowing. I have mine on a lower floor of the house where it is a little cooler, so I expected it might take longer to get going. Once it warmed up, it worked as expected.Overall, this is a nice little lamp with plenty of colors and lighting modes. The remote makes it easy to control, and the fade mode is particularly nice. My only real disappointment is that it does not automatically come back on when power is restored, which limits how well it works with a smart outlet. Other than that, I am very happy with it.

Unlike the sturdy glass lava lamps of my youth, this one is lightweight and made mostly of plastic, which makes it feel less substantial. It also takes about an hour to warm up and start bubbling, and the liquid motion is fairly slow.I do like the wide variety of color options and the different moods you can create with the remote. It’s a little smaller than I expected for a 14-inch lamp, but it still makes a nice, soothing nightlight for a bedroom or living room. One drawback is that it can’t be turned on or off without the remote, which feels a little inconvenient and makes me wonder about relying on the remote long-term. Overall, it’s relaxing and visually calming, but it doesn’t quite have the classic lava-lamp feel I remember.

This 14 inch liquid motion lamp was packed well and easy to set up. The remote didn’t include batteries but that wasn’t a big deal. It was a little smaller than expected. It comes in one solid piece, except for the top cap. It took over an hour to heat up and begin working.I like how you can cycle it through several different colors. You can match it to almost any decor color. The pink LED is mostly magenta though. You can also change the colors to flash and fade, which is cool. The white liquid moves like bubbles and they move extremely slow. I didn’t really like how slow the liquid moves. I was sort of expecting the liquid to move like “lava light” branded lights, but it doesn’t. I think this unit is lower quality compared to other motion lamps. The main point is, this unit forms white liquid “bubbles” and bounces them up and down very slowly above an adjustable LED light source.

Nice lamp, the colors are vibrant, love the ability to change the brightness. Only downfall is from my understanding the only way to turn it on is with the remote unless I possibly overlooked that part. It does take a while to heat up, I think for the room we had it in it did take roughly 2 hours & it doesn't have as much movement as I was hoping it would like a "lava" lamp does. My kids absolutely love it though. They love that the can adjust the colors & the different ways it'll light up.

I bought this to add a little personality to a room that was feeling too plain, and it did exactly that. Once it warms up, the movement is the best part: the wax slowly rises and falls in a way that is genuinely relaxing to watch. It has that old-school motion lamp charm, but the color options and remote make it feel easier to use day to day.The color range is better than I expected. I mostly used the softer tones in the evening, but it was nice having brighter choices when I wanted the lamp to stand out more. The remote is convenient for changing colors and brightness without getting up, and the timer is a good feature if you like falling asleep with a light on. The base feels steady, and the lamp has enough size to work as a real accent piece instead of looking tiny on a shelf.A couple small things to know: it does not start moving instantly, so you need a little patience before it looks its best. Also, some of the more dramatic color modes are fun for a few minutes, but I found the slower, softer settings much better for regular use. That said, those are more quirks than real problems.Overall, this is a nice mix of nostalgic and practical. It gives off a calming glow, looks good in the room, and feels easy to live with. If you want a decorative lamp that is interesting without being too flashy all the time, this is a solid choice.
