I’m extraordinarily happy with this steel stair. It’s heavy duty. I should also note that it is also flatly heavy so you will need to rig something and/or have a plan for how you’re going to hold it in place while you weld it in. I believe the listed 1800 pound capacity is probably on the low end of what it could actually handle without flexing or buckling. It seems to be very well made and listed dimensions are very accurate. I like the bit of a bullnose on the front edge. It looks great in general and rust shouldn’t ever be a problem with this step. The treads are as durable as you’re going to get anywhere. At about $54 currently the price is quite good and is in line with the level of quality you’re receiving here.

My use for this is not the intened use. I leave my garage man-door open for my Great Dane. She can easily step over it so it doesn't hurt her paws. But the "legless slithery creatures" won't go over it. Saves me from screaming like Jamie Curtis in Halloween when those creatures think about setting up residence in the garage. Thank you!!!

This galvanized tread is exactly what I needed at the bottom of the bulkhead stairs. Although my use may be a bit unconventional, it will show the many uses of the product. The tread covers a recess in the basement floor that is designed to collect any water that may run down the concrete stairs during a heavy rain. It fits perfectly with it's 36" width At 1-1/2" thick, the tread does not flex or twist despite the gently pitched floor underneath. The 10" tread depth is comfortable to walk on and I especially like the aggressive, serrated steel texture on the walking surface. The tread is non slip, will allow snow and dirt to fall through, and, most of all, proved a secure, and trusted footing for me. When carrying wood pellets, or garden tools up and down the stairs, I appreciate the solid construction and more than adequate dimensions.

We opted to choose this product for review because we've longed for having a safe place to step off of our back stairway and onto the pathway. That final step down is risky with ice and packed snow. Slips for us and our dogs has happened in the past. It is clear that this strip of tread will eliminate that risk. That's our intent and this "Galvanized Steel Stair Tread" does exactly as we envisioned.Granted, it's summertime right now. But rest assured, if there's any change come this winter we will be the first to update this review. But we are very confident in what we are seeing with the strength, welding, and materials of this heavy duty step.Looking online, the $59 price tag for a 36x10 T3, this is the current going rate.It is very heavy, weighing in at just under 13 pounds. It arrived in a snug fitted, extra thick cardboard box (aka minimal wiggle room).See enclosed photos for close-ups of the traction design (safety) and excellent precise welding with no frayed edges. If you're in the market for something like this, we definitely recommend this product without hesitation. If you know someone who also risks slippage from stairways or walkways, please consider pointing them to this.Tip: if using seasonly like us, keep the box it came with. It slides right back in for storage 👍🏼
