I've tried a bunch of different filters, but they usually fall short. The other guy's filters are good; it's just they include cheap O-Rings on the top and bottom of the filter. The ICEPURE seems to be well made and includes thick, strong, sturdy O-Rings. I also use lube on all my O-Rings to make taking the housing apart a little easier.With the use of thicker O-Rings I don't have to tighten the housing as much. I have a mark on the front to where I know it thigh enough not to leak, but easier enough to get off when needed. When using the filters with cheap O-Rings I would over tighten every time - making it impossible to get off. I broke my last housing trying to get it off, so now I refuse to use any other filter except ICEPURE.Installation is also a snap, because these are the perfect size for my Culligan whole house filter. Some of the others I've used were not what I expected and a little short. Rust would get through somehow and mess up my toilets. Some of my faucets got clogged too. I've never had any issues with the ICEPURE.The ICEPURE filters last me about 6 months. Even when I see loads of rust, I don't really change the filter until I see a drop in water pressure. So, when the pressure is low - the filter must go. In using the ICEPURE filters it now only takes me 10 minutes or less to swap out the old filter for a new one. I clean the housing and lubing the O-Rings with each new filter just to help with removal on the next filter change. It helps; believe me I know.All in all, ICEPURE is now the only filter I will use in my Culligan whole house filter. They are well made and come nicely packaged for long storage life. I've never had any of the split open and they last a long time without a drop in water pressure.
